Manual Input of (More) Health Data

Why can't I enter my body fat, water, mass etc? I already have scales that give me all this info, I don't ever plan on upgrading to your US$250 scales to do this.

Just a note of thanks for including the Health and Calendar features. The interface to Tanita scale interface is excellent!

Glad the interface is working for you. However, can't help but believe you are in a VERY small minority of Garmin users who are able to get ANY function from this "enhancement".

The decision by GC to not make all these fields on the Health page available for manual entry is nothing more than Shameless Strong arm Marketing.

I've already displayed my loyalty to Garmin (Edge 305), and Tanita (BC-549). Why withhold this capability! Allow manual entry, when I'm ready to upgrade, yes...the wireless transfer sounds nice, I will probably end up there at some point.

But for Garmin and Tanita to try and force that move....NOT VERY PROFESSIONAL AT ALL!

But from what I've seen lately on this forum, GC is making a habit out of falling short of the expectations of their users.

I'm hoping this was a poorly, hastily made decision that GC will fix...sooner rather than later. :)

Thanks for your input on Garmin Connect Health. Please know that the ability to edit the other heath matrices for users who do not own the Tanita scale has been under consideration by the Garmin Connect team, and will continue to be. We do not intend to exclude non-Tanita scale users from being able to track their user health.
The scale, though, does not have a display, and Garmin Connect is one of the few avenues for the scale owners to be able to review their health data recorded from the scale.

  • Great to see the new features and have the site back on line, but I just have two requests for the health section.

    2. I have Tanita body composition scales which provide me with all th information, why can I only complete the weight field and non of the rest?

    Keep up the good work..

As KK said, this feature is already currently under consideration.

How many Garmin Connect users own the Tanita BC-1000?
How many Garmin Connect users own other scales and/or want to add data manully?
How long does Garmin plan to "continue to consider" adding manual input for all fields?
What's this nonsense of "avenues" to review health data?

    Health data manual input

I would like to add my support to all the calls for the ability to add health data manually. I also have an older Tanita - being able to track all the data would be a great feature.

Until Garmin see sense on this I will have to carry on with the old fashioned method - pen and paper.

Come on Garmin - stop "considering" and give your customers want they want!

as you might have noticed, there are hundreds of features that users want, and we work toward accomplishing them.
the ability to manually edit other data fields is something that we want to accomplish. we are not picking on you or excluding you because you do not own a tanita scale. the scale does not have internal memory or a display for the user to see what the scale just recorded from them. that is the supplement that garmin connect satiates for the scale owners: a display for the users to see what data has been recorded from the scale.
please respect that your needs have been recognized, and stay tuned to forums to find out if/when your desired feature will be added.

    I'm closing this thread.

Please folks, many of you have asked the engineers make for comments and updates to your posts/requests. They have been doing a stellar job. When you continue to badger them/rephrase your questions 20 different ways hoping to get a different response after they/we have answered your questions and concerns, it does no one any good, and just gets old. When your question has been answered, please refrain from further questioning unless there is really something new being brought to the discussion.

    Thanks -- kk
