The new web home page is a JOKE

I tried the beta and went back  to the good non beta that shows all the info I want in a manner I want to see it, then when i logged in this morning i was confronted with this

And on pressing the blue button I was confronted with this

This is of little use to me really as even with in focus turned on  as I have now gives me very little useful info like my dashboards used to

  • Shift+click on any of the tiles opens in a new tab for me. Same for left column menu items. Not sure what doesn't work for you.

Shift clicking on some of the javascript links under Last 7 Days doesn't work, including "...Runs", "...Workouts", "Team Sports" and "...Walk". (This results in a 404 bc the url is missing a "/")

I'm pretty sure this is bc the ability to shift-click a js link and actually have it open a new tab is a recent browser innovation, and the browser is just guessing what the link target is supposed to be.

As a full stack dev I hate it when js links are used unnecessarily. Obviously browsers added the feature mentioned above bc devs won't stop using js links, and users still want the ability to easily open a new tab from a link. Too bad this feature excludes users who have a decent gaming or productivity mouse (like MX Master 3) and like to use middle click when they can. You obviously also can't use right click > open in new window, but that's a pretty rare use case to be fair.

  • Most will shrug and live with it

    Yup

Repurpose or lay off some staff.

    Yup

I don't like it much but I don't expect to see any significant pull back.

Yeah, the problem I have is when ppl say that you must love the new design otherwise you're some kind of loser who can't adapt. (*)

I happen to (mostly) like the new design on mobile, since it's mostly an improvement there. (Def looks much nicer and makes better use of space.) I think it's a step back in some ways on the website. It looks nicer, but does less and there's a ton of wasted space.

Don't see how people can deny that the website is objectively losing features. That's a separate argument from "I don't care about those features" or "Garmin never promised you'd have those features forever."

(* It's funny how ppl are expected to adapt to tech instead of the other way around. I'm ok with it if the new tech is a true innovation, but we never see anything like that from Garmin.)

I've been using Garmin for so many years and I've never seen anything like this, it is almost totally useless. I guess I could go back to my own way of keeping track of everything, Excel spreadsheet I used since the early 80s. I can control what I want without all the BS, like their new system. I'm glad to see so many users feel this way.

  • That History Import is greyed out for me...still no auto update

  • I hate the new format. I was part of the beta test and gave the feedback that the new interface is terrible. They should offer a rollback to the "classic" interface and an option to go with the new. So you can toggle. I absolutely hate the new look and feel.

  • Garmin doesn't listen to negative feedback.  Beta was a joke from what I've been told by lots of people.

  • Is garmin going to change this? This is the main reason I use garmin. The setup on the app. If I hate the setup I can’t just use another watch

  • My Dashboard was filed with my custom Goals, ie. most miles in a year, workout most days of the year, most calories burned in a year. etc. Now my goals have been tucked away in the dark corner of the site.

Useless. Alternatives? I'm seriously thinking about going back to logging my rides in a spreadsheet.
