How to import Polar data into Garmin?

Hello,

I am interested switching from Polar Flow to Garmin. For this I want to import all my training units.

At account.polar.com I could download a zip-file (polar-user-data-export*.zip) having all my training-units as JSON-files. Unfortunately the Garmin import only allows the following types:

  • TCX-, FIT- or GPX-Format)
  • Fitbit® (XLS, XLSX or CSV)

I did also try with SyncMyTracks Android App, but it is very slow and gets many errors Disappointed

How did you get it done?

    Can anybody help? I have the TCX files, I don't need to convert, but the TCX file can not be uploaded. Every time Garmin Connect gives me an error message, that the operation could not be performed and I should try some other time (I have tried many times). If I export GPX, is is imported without any problem. TCX is not, never. The same activity in GPX works, in TCX not. I have 9 years of data (mostly Polar, but Endomondo before), I took it via Strava :-), so I have all data there, but I would like to have in Garmin too. It is no problem to do a bulk export in TCX format from Strava, but GPX is not available in bulk, just one by one. Thanks for any suggestion, why TCX does not work for me.

    I would use Fit File Repair Tool for this. It also has the ability to batch process files, so if you have a lot to convert, it will automate the task.

    If you want to zip and attach one of the files here, we can test it out.

    • Zip the file, then in a reply post Insert >> Image/video/file >> click Upload >> browse for file >> OK.
    • Or upload the file to a reputable file sharing service, such as OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, make the file public, then paste a link to the file in your post.

     Sorry I answer this way, but for some reason the reply button does not work. It is solved and surprisingly in an easy way. I found a tool Polar flow exporter https://flow-exporter.ddns.net/index.php in another discussion, tried it and it works. You can download a bulk files directly from Polar through this tool and choose an option "Modify my files" and these files are ok and it is possible to upload them in Garmin Connect. But you have to check this choice, if you don't the TCX files don't work. I do not knot the reason, I tried to find out, but the link to the explanation gives error 404. But it works :-).

    Hi all, 

    I uploaded all my activities on Garmin as Aldipower suggested. It worked perfectly for almost all of them.

    But, the problem is that my Garmin connect was already synchronised with my Strava account. So all my activities (hundreds of them) appear twice on my Strava .

    Did someone already encounter this kind of problems and how did you solve it?

    Hi Aldipower! I'm trying to convert activites, however, I get the same red lines as above. What could be the problem?
