Menstrual Tracking for Men?

I know i suffer from male PMS on occasion, but shouldn't this app be smart enough to remove this feature if the user is a male or give us the option to remove it?

  • I’m not able to remove menstrual tracker. There is no options in web settings to remove it.

You get the Menstrual Cycle Tracking option only if you selected Female or Not Specified as gender in your User Settings. Once the option is activated, I do not think you can opt out, even if you set the gender to Male. At least the FAQ states the following:

There is no formal opt out feature for Menstrual cycle tracking. If you wish to discontinue using the feature, you can change your Cycle setting to ‘No Period’ and discontinue tracking symptoms. Adjusting these settings will remove the MCT Widget from the My Day screen in the Garmin Connect app and you will no longer receive any predictions.

You may need to contact the Customer Support and see whether they can help.

I finally figured out that you have to disable this from your watch, NOT from the app. Confusing but I finally got rid of the daily notices.

  • Well none of the suggested works it would apear. Just bought veno smartwatch today. I've spend the last hour and a half, trying to remove that widge. First from watch - reapears few minuts after.

Then from garmin connect app(uninstalled the widge) - it reinstall it self

Finally tried to remove it from the connect IQ app - guess what. It installer itself again and started updating. Even though I also tried to disaple auto update.

This is so basic stuf, that it baffle me that this is even an issue. I've had a Samsung gear s3 for years and not ones have I ever had any problem similar to this.

See my previous post - the Menstrual Tracking will be available in all accounts that were created without specifying the gender (or using Female as gender). Adding the gender later won't have any effect. The only way you can get rid of the Menstrual Tracking entirely, is by creating a new account from the scratch, and making sure you enter your gender correctly.

  • But I did. I followed the instructions when I created my profile and I selected male under gender.

Somehow the widge isn't showing on the watch anymore. I've removed it from the list of widges from the watch and now it seems to have worked. (I can still choose it under the widges list it is just not one of the widges that is shown when I scroll through the widges).

However, I won't get my hopes high as it seems, that the widge still keeps reinstalling itself from the connect IQ app. In the IQ app it says that the widge is installed but at the same time it is in the "download line" waiting to be updated but nothing happens.

For now, that that isn't my biggest concern as the widge is not visible on the watch anymore. My biggest concern is however the extreme inaccuracy in the GPS....

Perhaps you forgot to set it on the watch, when you initialized it. Or perhaps you got a second-hand watch previously used by a female (sometimes it can happen even at new watches, if there was someone testing it briefly and returned it to the store without doing the Master Reset).

If you created a male account and got the female features, then I'd immediately delete the account, and would create a new one, assuring it is properly set for a male.

  • Thank you very much for so fast replies. If I do delete my account will my activities be lost or can I somehow save them and "upload" them when creating a new one?

  • I bought a vivo active 4 watch recently (April 2021) and it is popping up again about the menstrual cycle... Male is set by default so it is weird...

  • Male is set by default so it is weird...

What is selected now is unimportant. The option will be available if you did not select Male (both for Female and for Undefined), when you created the account, and it will remain there even if you change it later to Male.

The only way to get rid of it, is creating a new account, and taking care to select the gender correctly during the initial setup.

  • I still see this. I cannot remove it
