Multisport File Editing

I've read through a few posts today and can't work out how to resolve this issue.....

Did a Duathlon today. Forerunner 735XT recorded all except......

It didn't connect to the power meter on the bike for the ride. I recorded the ride separately on the Edge 520 which has connected to the power meter and saved all the data.

I can't work out how to remove the bike leg as recorded by the watch, insert the leg recorded by the Edge 520, and then re-upload as a Multisport activity.

I tried fit file tools merger, but it just seems to add the Edge recording onto the end of the activity, then upload as a ride, and I can't change it to a Multisport activity.

Any suggestions?

Cheers Mike. In the Nice activity, it seems to have kept the altitude gain from the Forerunner file, and overreads by almost 800m, while the average power is 10W higher than in the individual bike file. Any idea how/why that occurred?

I may have uploaded the wrong file, but the cairns bike is missing just over half an hour, and elevation seems to be wrong on that too, perhaps taken off the watch instead of the garmin?

    Cheers,

    James

  • Former Member - I have checked the Nice bike file that you provided and it had an avg pwr of 220W, which transferred into the fixed file.  I have run this file through the GPS elevation correction feature in FFRT so upload it and see if the altitude gain is any better.

The Cairns bike file you provided had an elapsed time of 2hr47min01sec - does that sound right?

    cheers

    Cheers Mike.

Here’s a screenshot of the Nice bike recording off the Garmin Edge (ignore it being in French), showing 210W and 1192m elev gain.

Here is a screenshot of the file you fixed for me today with elevation corrections - average moving speed of 1790km/h, moving time of 3:05, avg power 220W, elev of 1821.

The file from cairns is about 2:47, but the screenshot of the bike leg from the file you sent me is below. Not sure what happens to the time and elevation when they’re edited.

I’ve been exporting the original file and uploading them to you. Perhaps I should try downloading a TCX or GPX file?

    Cheers,

    James

  • Former Member - hmmm not really sure what is going on.  When work settles down a bit I will reach out to the FFRT developer and see if he can shed some light on it.

    cheers
