Corrupt FIT File Repair Requests

Hi,

I would like to load this file into any software, but all of them tell me that it cannot be imported.
For some reason the file is not working (the watch ran out of battery while it was tracking the hike), but I would really like to have it.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Corrupted fit file, tracked with forerunner 35

    Hi All,

Yesterday I did a bike ride which was tracked with my forerunner 35. After saving this activity it could be seen in my watch but than either the automatic syncronization or manual import onto Garmin Connect did not work (in second case I got the answer that the file was corrupt).
I attached the fit file, could anybody have a look on this?

    Thank you in advance.

    Best regards,

    Thanks!
I wonder what could have caused the corruption? The only thing I can think of is maybe after I saved the ride my Garmin did Auto-Shutdown, but I can't understand that would corrupt data fields like you're describing. Hope I don't need a new Garmin :-/

If anyone has potential fixes so this doesn't keep happening I would appreciate it. I already disabled Auto-Shutdown.

The corruption occurred during the ride and not due to Auto-Shutdown. At the 7 mile area did you enter heavy tree cover or start down a narrow street with high buildings, areas where the device would lose satellite connection? Corruption of time and date is typical of satellite loss and then for some reason the device cannot reconnect.
Also the speed/cadence sensor is supposed to continue recording speed and distance even when satellite connection is lost and that did not happen. You might check the magnets, alignment, battery, etc to see if that is the reason.

    Hello Mihaly,
Whatever was wrong with your file was very minor. The Fit File Repair Tool gave no warnings or errors it just fixed the file. :o

  • Broken triathlon file

    Hello Don,

Sorry to bother you but I'm in a bit of a pickle. This weekend I completed a triathlon. I managed to record it successfully, but made a stupid, on hindsight, mistake of using two HR monitors (Swim and then Tri). When I arrived back at my hotel I used the "Download Heart Rate" option of my 920XT with both HRMs which appeared to work but I suspect ultimately corrupted the resulting FIT file. The automatic sync of the the activity failed and manual upload in Garmin Connect also displays an error.

I would really appreciate it if you could help. Here's the file in question:

    Hello Peshoo,
All the heart rates for all sessions were 146bpm. That is obviously corrupted data so I removed all heart rates.
If you have a second file with correct heart rates I can add them to this MultiSport if you want.
Anyway....fixed what I could with the Fit File Repair Tool.

Actually there is still HR left in the bicycle leg/session up to the 59th minute. Strange.

    Unfortunately I don't :(

Thank you very much indeed, Don :D

  • I guess I'm having the same issue as many others. My Forerunner 235 is giving me an invalid Fit file. I don't have time to figure out all the software and it appears some don't work on a Mac...Could someone be kind enough to fix this for me?

    hi Trimonto2,

You had a small amount of corrupt data so your distance/time may not be correct.

    Give this file a try.

    cheers

  • Hi
Another dodgy fit file. I've managed to get the first hour's data from it but I'd really like the rest as it was a particularly difficult attempt to ride 26 tiimes up and down a steep hill (don't ask why!). I guess that the tree cover may have affected the data. Can anyone please help?
    Thank you!
