Corrupt FIT File Repair Requests

Hi,

I would like to load this file into any software, but all of them tell me that it cannot be imported.
For some reason the file is not working (the watch ran out of battery while it was tracking the hike), but I would really like to have it.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

  • HELP - Incomplete / Truncated Fit File

I ran a 50k race & only part of it shows up. The watch is 910XT and the History menu shows the correct total of 47km, 5hr:51 min. However when uploaded to garmin connect or strava only the first 27 km and 3hr 15 min is shown. When I opened the fit file in text editor to check for errors, only timestamps up to 3hr 15 min are shown as well. The watch still has the correct totals for the activity so something is corrupt on the watch and the full data is not being transferred. Any idea on a fix or how to retrieve all the data? I attached the .fit file but I don't think it's of much use as the problem seems to be with what the watch is transferring.
  • Repair .fit file?

Hello, the attached .fit file is from my first swim with the hrm-swim. I can view the data just fine on my watch (including HR from the hrm-swim), but can't seem to get it to upload to GC. Would someone with the fit tool fixer be willing to try to repair it? Thanks in advance!

  • Moving the lap button pushes

    Hi Guys,
    Please help.......
I did a duathlon yesterday and forgot to press the lap button at the start of the bike, then managed to press it twice so I have a long first run with a bit of bike data, then bike data (with power) and a run included in with it.
I did have a look at the .fit file, but there's so much going on, it all got a bit confusing what I should move to where.
    Can someone help?
I presume it's just a case of moving the registered lap button pushes to the appropriate places where the bike power data starts and finishes?
If that's the case, can someone pretty please screen print the bits they move for future reference as this might help others to do it themselves in the future.
The lap pushes should of happened around 28:30 and 1:17:45 ish.
    Thanks in advance,
    Pat.

    Hello Pat,

    More complicated that you think.
There is no power or cadence on the bike data because when you pushed the lap button out of sequence you caused the 910 to record your bike part as a run. :(
I had to remove all your auto laps and sessions and make one complete file with all the data in order increasing by time.
Then I had to determine the approx correct distances for each run and bike section.
Then in between those distances I looked for zero speeds that indicated the transition sections.
    Then I made 5 new laps, run1, trans1, cycling, trans2, run2.
Then I had to export each lap as a separate file.
Then I had to create a brand new file by importing each file as a new session and appending it to the previous session in the proper order.
The end result is a MultiSport file with 5 sessions. :)

So....here ya go. A new MultiSport file created with the Fit File Repair Tool.

    Hi -

I ran a half marathon, but I forgot to enable auto laps and I'm having a tough time analyzing the file. Can you please help me with creating laps (splits) at 1 mile increments? Thank you.

  • Hi Don,
Sterling job - many thanks - you are a genius.
I know you can probably do these in your sleep, but it's very much appreciated.

    Pat.
