Corrupt FIT File Repair Requests

Hi,

I would like to load this file into any software, but all of them tell me that it cannot be imported.
For some reason the file is not working (the watch ran out of battery while it was tracking the hike), but I would really like to have it.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

    Japanese .FIT file

Hey guys, I recently had a weeks riding in Japan and one of the days files was somehow corrupted. I have been using my 500 as gps route at the same time but I've done that several times.

Anyway, I uploaded the fit file to the repair tool thinking I was clever....I'm not. I have since deleted the original fit file but I have converted my .csv file back to .fit........I hope that makes sense?

Please find attached the fit file so that somebody ( a true god) can have a look and hopefully repair...

    Yours hopefully, Chris

    Hello Chris,

Could you zip down that CSV file and attach it to another post here?

    Hello Chris,

I went ahead with the FIT file you attached but the speeds are completely bogus because your file has no timestamps.
The only timestamps I can fabricate are 1 second intervals but your file was not recorded at 1 sec so the speeds are way high.

The data does not make a loop but it is what it is.

So....here ya go. Fabricated with the Fit File Repair Tool. :)

    Hey Don,

Thanks very much for fixing file, is there are reason for bogus data or is it just on of those things....?

I use 3 second intervals on my Garmin, is that what you need to know??

    Thanks again, Chris

    Hello Chris,

The data in the file you attached was not bogus.

The problem was that there were no timestamps in the file. Somehow they were stripped out of the data.

Connect will not load files that do not have timestamps so I made the fake (fabricated) timestamps to force Connect to load your file.

The fake timestamps combined with the distances in your file made for bogus (very high) speeds.

    Hello Zhenz,

The files that have been recovered using one of these Recovery Softwares (could have been H-Data, I do not know) and then posted here because they were corrupt, have been files full of symbols, NULL, etc. Basically garbage with no real data that can be used to rebuild a gps track.

Have you recorded a ride on your gps and then deleted it and then recovered it with H-Data?

Could you load the recovered file into Connect?

    Hello everyone

Today, I have cycling about 130 km with my bike and I could see in Garmin all the contents of the training until I come home. When I gave the reset button to save the exercise apparently Garmin has saved, but when I want to import gives me error and all data are zero.

Can you help me? I tried to repair the file but can not.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Rutas,

The Tool gave no indication of what was corrupt so it must have been very minor.

All the data seems to be there except the Calories which I added using a power formula of (avg Watts) x (moving Time in decimal hours) x 3.6 = 2489 Calories.

So....here ya go. Fixed with the Fit File Repair Tool.

    Another time the same problem

    Hello DATEZZ

Often I have the same problem with the Garmin and I don't know the cause. Apparently all is well and everything is fine, but when I do a reset to save the exercise data can not see ...

Please, can you help me? I can not repair the file.
