Corrupt FIT File Repair Requests

Hi,

I would like to load this file into any software, but all of them tell me that it cannot be imported.
For some reason the file is not working (the watch ran out of battery while it was tracking the hike), but I would really like to have it.

Any ideas?

I'm not sure I've understood your problems. But I "frequently" have issues downloading stored swim heart rate data (From Garmin HRM-Swim) to my Forerunner 965.

Ironman Texas 2018. Had a bike crash which the watch and I somehow survived, and were able to get through to the finish. BUT it died before saving the event despite recording ALL the data!

Definitely one of the more time consuming repairs I have done - there was an absolute TON of data in that file and I've had to use every second data record in order to be able to do the repair.

Give this file a try.

Thanks Mike! I'm a kiwi too, now living in Canada. Like I said, the file had ALL the data! And over 9.5hrs it's going to be a lot of data to process.

Really appreciate the work you put in, and giving me the memory of the event. Turns out I was on the side of the road after bike crash for 40min instead of 30min like my bike computer suggested.

Garmin, can you maybe offer a contract to Mike in order to solve this FIT file issues which is quite annoying... =/ 92 pages x5/10 is alot of people. (And I'm pretty sure not everyone is coming her...)

Hello, I'm hoping someone can help me. Just completed my longest ride to date, a 120km ride in Girona, Spain. Garmin worked the whole way around, and seemed to save okay, but when I go to upload to Strava, I get a message advising that the .fit file is malformed and unable to be processed. Is there any way the file can be fixed? File is attached. Cheers :)

The file only contains 1.28km worth of data.

Hi Mike, thanks for the quick response and for giving that a go for me. Any idea why the Garmin would record the full ride but only save part of it? Really annoyed that this has happened as it's the longest ride I've ever done and all data is now lost :(
