this is a must! why is it so hard to just copy segment of hr data from all day and reuse it when creating a manual activity? I use garmin swim 2 with continuous wrist-based hr tracking
This is archaic . C'mon Garmin. This makes zero sense. How hard is it to pull in your heart rate from the time of activity??
It's a simple thing to program, and a lot of people want it.
It looks like not enough of them requested it. Or Garmin considers it, similarly as myself, for completely useless.
I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that all-day recording measurements are taken less frequently than HR during activity, and would therefore be less accurate for calorie counting
Yes, the daily HR is recorded with the sampling rate of 2 minutes, in contrary to the Activity recording with the sampling rate of up to 1s. And that's the reason why using te daily HR data for manual entries, and/or for the recalcualtion of Activity Calories makes no sense.
However, the daily Active Calories are being calculated in real-time from the live HR data directly from the HRM (although they are not being stored to the file, to save space). And that's happening directly on the watch (not calculated by the app!!!). So the accuracy of the Active Calories is as good as during an Activity - that was my point.
3 Years later... This is still not a feature? This seems so basic, my Garmin continuously tracks my heart rate, and I say I worked out from this start time for this long, pull the data collected for the heart rate during that time frame into the manually created workout.
If I trim a workout it REMOVES the data... same concept right?
