M?! Whaaaaat?! Watt!

I was just looking at some activities I did this summer. I find the unit for power abbreviated as "M"! I'snt Watt still the offcial unit for power?!

I understand, that Ms and Ws are looking d*mm*ed similar! My daughter child also mixed them!

Garmin, would you mind to upend all the Ms?! Thank you! ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1305810.jpg

    Awesome. Thanks for the confirmation.
  • I can also confirm that it works for me now.

But I can't help wondering why this small cosmetic error in Garmin Connect got so much attention from Garmin, while there are real errors in Garmin Connect which seems to be completely ignored:
    • Calories from Walk activities are lost in the Active Calories report.
    • If the active calories from the activity tracker in the watch exceeds active calories from logged activities, the difference will be shown as Walking in the Active Calories report. (Which probably has caused internal confusion at Garmin. Because of the confusion, the calories from logged Walk activities got dropped because you can't have to categories both named Walking?)
    • If the active calories from logged activities exceeds active calories from the activity tracker in the watch, the Total Calories report will only show the active calories from the activity tracker. All additional calories from logged activities are lost. The Active Calories report will show the correct sum of the logged activities (as long as there was no Walk activities that day, of course).
    • Some users experience that the calories for an activity are changed by Garmin Connect after upload from the watch.
There are several threads about problems with active calories - not how they are calculated by the watch, but how they are handled by Garmin Connect after upload. I have not seen any attention from Garmin employees in those threads. But a W which became an M gets Garmin's full attention.

Sorry for the off topic rant. But this thread seems to have ongoing attention from Garmin.

AllanOlesen67 We are aware of the issues that you mentioned regarding calories. The Garmin Connect team is working to resolve them.
  • Thank you for the confirmation, Joey. For a long time I have used Hiking instead of Walking to work around this issue, and it bothers me because this creates other issues.
