Vivoactive 3 not receiving Hangouts and WeChat notifications

Believe me that I have done many experiments and researches on this issue...

My set up:
- European version Samsung Galaxy Note 8 (latest official software) - I live in Europe.
- Chinese version Vivoactive 3 (latest SW version 2.80) - heck the English/International version garmin watches does not support Chinese characters, why would any modern smartwatch do this...
- Latest Garmin Connect app installed from GooglePlay

I am not a tech noob, and I know what I am doing. I have all the obvious settings right. All of my app notifications work perfectly except for Google Hangouts and WeChat (a very popular Chinese messaging and social app). I also tried various combos of things, like switching the phone OS language between Chinese and English, watch language to English and Chinese, etc.; I have reinstalled Connect app, Hangouts and WeChat; I have restarted phone and watch; I have reset the watch to factory; I have registered Garmin Connect account inside and outside China region to test; I have done lots of things...

Interesting though, if I connect my English version vivoactive (1st gen), the notification for Hangouts and WeChat works! (though it does not show Chinese characters)

Can anyone help me please! This is mad.
