"Sorry. We did not find any results from your search. Try again."

Hi SInce yesterday Search engine stopped to work in finding activities by keyword.
the behaviour is not related to browser or O.S.
Any feedback?
Thanks
  • I think I found how to search

From the activity widget, on top there are three buttons. The PLUS, Magnifying Glass symbol, and SETTINGS.
Click the magnifying glass (for search).
    Click "show filters"
Click the check box for "my activities"
Type your text in the keyword box
Enter any other relevant information, ie duration to look back, activity type, distance, etc.

Tried it and it worked fine for me.
  • Thanks for the innovative suggestion above, but it didn't actually work for me; the search failed to find any results, where I know there are some that match the criteria.

  • Didn't work for me either.
  • As far as I know it only searches the "activity name" field. At least that is how I always used it and that works as described above. I never tried to search for a keyword within the "notes" field. I name my activities with enough uniqueness that I can always find what I want, or at least substantially limit the search results. So for me, the method above works as I have always used it in the past.
  • As far as I know it only searches the "activity name" field.
The note in parentheses below the Keyword field says, “(Name, Type, Comments, etc.)” so I expect the search to have a wider scope than just the activity name. Besides, the keyword search on the Activities page in Garmin Connect online used to be able to find keywords in the Notes field.

At least that is how I always used it and that works as described above.
Even for searching within activity names only, it isn't working consistently for me. I have these two activities that start at the same location:

Searching (any activity type; any event type; last 365 days; my activities only) for ‘changed’ starting near ‘Australian Museum, Sydney’ doesn't find any matches, even though the map frame then shows the correct location in a highly zoomed-in manner.

Zooming out on the map to show a far broader area, and then doing the same search but starting near ‘Current Map View’ sometimes finds the first activity (depending on where the map is centred). However, searching for either ‘pace’ or ‘alerts’ never finds the second activity above, even if I used exactly the same zoomed-out map view as before.
  • Same here. Mostly no returns on my search even if I search for the exact same activity name.
  • Search text box disappear

2 years with problems with search function till Garmin has made disappear the search box.

On 27/1/2015 there was an internal error
On 30/10/2016 there was a gateway timeout
On 9/2/2017 there was not any response. Spanish support told me they were working on it.

Effectively, now there is no text box to search for, so problem solved. It seems incredible.

It cannot be so difficult to deploy a good solution with Open Source Solr

Like an spanish expression,... "Dead the dog, the rabies is gone"
  • Terrible...I can't begin to imagine trusting my air travel in this company.
  • I am waiting for Strava to start producing sports watches. Looks like a huge gap in the market is opening up!
  • That's certainly one way to fix it...

This Garmin site has gotten so embarrassingly buggy. I came searching for why the Dashboard widget for activities wasn't showing maps anymore. Then I realized Search wasn't working either for a while… Then I saw this post. Yes, it appears that Garmin has come up with the innovative solution of removing features instead of actually fixing them.

    What problem?

Keyword search is SO important when you have the amount of metrics so many of us do. Removing the Search field makes it really difficult to find specific runs. Bummer. Suunto anyone??
