How to import .gpx or .tcx files as courses in Garmin Connect

Hello guys,

I have lots of routes created by me in Strava and would like to send them to Garmin Connect in order to use them in my Fenix 3HR. Can it be done ? (can't find this option in Garmin Connect and creating them again there will take a lot of time)
  • Just given it a go, and it worked fairly well. Had to delete the activities from Strava and TrainingPeaks, but think I managed to delete it from GC before MyFitnessPal picked it up.

Sigh. How hard can it be to roll the GPX import & course conversion into a single button that doesn't leave stray activities all over the place, along with stats that I'm now no longer sure I can trust? I mean, GC must surely have all of the code in it already, it just needs plugging together. It's baffling.

That said, Plotaroute is fantastic - I got it to autogenerate a route for me, and it's not one I would have thought of at all. Plus you don't have to go through many of the steps to get GC to recognize the activity that you do with other planners.
  • On the latest course section if you go to courses under the create a course button there is an import course link
  • I use this easy way to get a gpx file to my Garmin 1030
    - drop the gpx file in https://dynamic.watch/
    - Open IQ app routeCourse an download/start gpx file
