For my taste I see this "sorry, down for maintenance" too often.

Besides that I can't sync my VAHR to GCM, which seems to be related.

Hey, Garmin, ever heard of high availability for web services?

Embarrassing

Those symptoms normally point to something blocking the download. Maybe your firewall or an ad blocking program like Ghostery?

    Hi,
Thanks for the reply, but i have tried that, to no avail. This is the first time (in a number of years) that I have had a problem. It was working fine just a few days ago, but now it does nothing. Could it be the internet connection (broadband)? I have no security programs running on it, but it seems strange to me that it happens with both laptop and PC, and with 2 different accounts.

  • I just got it to work. Maybe the browser had a cached version of the page. I had already tried various things like re-loading the page. Logging out and then back in. All of a sudden it started working when I re-loaded the page again after posting the above.

Thank you, I deleted the browser cache and now it works again.
  • All Windows? Operating system updates perhaps?

Just to be clear, there is a difference to GC being down for maintenance and not being able to access GC.

Obviously if it's down for maintenance, it's out of our control. If however, for some reason there's a message that the servers cannot be contacted (or similar) the fault might not be Garmin's. Under most circumstances, waiting a while should resolve the issue.

For those who get excited at the number of times Garmin posts 'Down for maintenance' signs, how about sharing them so that those of us who don't see them can see just how often this major disruption to life occurs.
  • No, it's the rubbish Italien internet ... LOL ... just joking.

Interestingly for me in Germany it works 'til this morning. So whatever causes these strange issues should be investigated by Garmin's IT department.

Fact is, this isn't the first time. I found a German press article from early 2015 reporting similar problems, so I would guess, Garmin will fix it soon.

Of course it's not the first time. Neither will it be the last time. It's the interweb after all. &3it happens.

    All Windows?

In my case it was an iPad with iOS 9.3.5

Just to be clear, there is a difference to GC being down for maintenance and not being able to access GC.

Correct ... interestingly we have a mixup of different issues in this thread. But they might nevertheless be related, who knows. Last week e.g. I saw the maintenance message during the time others posted in the mentioned thread, what looked like technical issues. Very strange.

One thing we forgot to mention, that might explain such relationship might be proxy servers, e.g. when accessing Connect website from a company network at work. Though usually in this case the proxy should show a message, that the site isn't reachable and in case of a maintenance, the according Garmin maintenance website should load nevertheless.
  • Is this down or is it me? The dashboard is not working?

See above, been working fine for me.
