Sudden decrease in "resting calories?"

Hey guys, recently my GC app has drastically cut what it calculated as my resting calories. I'm 5'11, 167 pounds. It was calculating my resting to be 2040 which is spot on for my TDEE.

Two days ago something changed, and my resting went down to 1720. What gives? I've changed nothing.

Has anyone else seen this?

    Hi All,

I have noticed over the past week or so despite the reduction in resting calories; it appears to have balanced out. I now seem to 'break even' after about 3000 steps. I have compared with my fitbit calorie burn and they are both comparable, so my trust is growing:)

I think there are still issues. I had a very active day last Friday, but did not have any separately recorded activities, just a lot of walking. My Fenix 3 recorded 42,450 steps and said I walked just over 21 miles. However, Garmin says I only burned 2,911 calories for the day. I know these are just estimates but that is way too low considering I spent almost the entire day on my feet walking around. They really need to change to step calorie calculation for those of us that do not have devices with optical heart rate.
