Connect imports RUN as "Other"

I have a Fenix2 (latest firwmare).
When I run, I select the RUN Activity.
I import via Connect Android Bluetooth (latest version)
Why does the activity get classified as "Other"?
I then have to re-classify my activity as Run and select my equipment (shoes).

Is this normal?

This is really painful.
Please fix.

I am having the same problem with my vivosmart hr. It stored my cycle yesterday under other no matter what I activity I changed it to.

I did a "master reset" as per
    support.garmin.com/.../case.faces
    Re-configured my Fenix2 and it's working.
Run activity syncs as RUN, also my Run Dynamics are appearing in Connect.
My default equipment (shoes) are also selected.
    Much better.

Same with vivosmart. And even changing those in Connect's dashboard to "Runnung" doesn't help. In reports and graphs those are still shown as "Other"

Same with the Fenix2, since the update to Android Connect (black theme), even changing from "Other" to "Running" does not fix the event in the reports and graphs.
The good news is that doing a "master reset" as per:
    support.garmin.com/.../case.faces
Re-configured the Fenix2 results in new events coming thru correctly.
Also imports the Running Dynamics correctly.
Some of my recent events are still wrong in the reports (see attached print screen)

    New imports are correct.
How do I fix the older events to be classified as Running.

Did you try reset app in app settings?

    Try sync via USB.
    This will bypass the App.
If the Activity comes through as OTHER, then the problem is in the device.
When I had this problem on my Fenix2, doing a "Soft" reset did not help.
Had to do a full reset as documented above.

There is a problem with the web where changing an activity from Other to Running does not update the reports.

I did a compare of an Other activity vs a Running activity and the other.FIT file was missing data.
