I cannot get my Vivofit 2 activities to sync to Garmin Connect. Is there a fix for this yet?

Thanks,

HRM activities still not recording on Vivofit2

I took the update to the latest version of the app and got new pretty graphics. But today at the gym it did not log any of my activities with my HRM. I even had to re-add the HRM before going to the gym because it was no longer connected after removing the Vivofit2 and re-synching, which was suggested as a solution to loss of activity tracking.

But it does appear to track an activity that does not involve the HRM. So that now works, it just does not give you much credit for your workout since it appears to only be based on steps and does not factor in HR. Normally 30 minutes on elliptical yields around 400 calories burned when using HRM. Today I got less than half of that since it only used steps in the calculation.

    @Dstaylor

I think you're on the right track in that the Vivofit might not be using heart rate at all in it's calcs on calories even when it's been engaged.

I can recall a cardio + weights workout I did once when I forgot to wear my HRM and the result was similar to what I am seeing now even when I wear the HRM.

    Not working either

Confirmed tonight that activities with HRM aren't syncing and no data at all from Saturday. I think that's when my phone installed the update. This stinks. Thanks, Garmin. Vivofit2, iPhone iOS 9.

i've become very unhappy with Garmin connect

I've had issues with firstly, sleep not being tracked, then that just started working all by itself again?? Now i have issues with calouries not syncing, not being able to add activities to my mobile, the steps don't show up in the daily time graph etc. I'm over it and am thinking of changing to the new fitness band that's coming out soon. Why did Garmin feel they had to fix something that wasn't broken, so annoying!

    Activity and HRM

    Hello
To whom this might help last 2-3 das going crazy activity not synching with HRM. Solution was very easy after to much head banging.

1 go device setting on garmin connect
    2. Click show heart monitor in display

Now activities synching with hrm on

Did you try using HRM for activities that doesnt involve walking? such as weight lifting etc. The last time I use it for interval training, it doesnt count my calories well. It gave me 50 Cal for 1 hour intense workout. Then it wont sync the activity at all.

I am curious if Garmin already solve this issue since I notice there is another update in app store. My HRM battery is dead now so I couldnt try it myself.

    Just tested - works. Thanks!

Its just a workarround - display heart frequency without wearing sensor is not useful during 'non-activities'. But thats okay.

    Hi All,

When it all went pear shaped at the point of the new snazzy update, I have logged an incident with garmin support, to which i received a standard: you idiot reboot, etc etc. Since then I have sent them a further 3 emails detailing the issues precisely (came to the same conclusion as most of you re not syncing activities where HRM has been used during the workout, and the off in the calc as far as calories burnt..) I have had not response at all. The idea that somehow the issues are at the user end and not the server end is ridiculous. Also find it more than coincidental that the issues started at the same time updates were made to the app (or should i say untested updates) in time to release a new activity tracker: the vivosmart HR, with yes you guessed it: new features involving HR data!!!!!!

I accept that in IT things break, but their attitude to support is very very very poor..... I absolutely love my watch does exactly what it needs to do, when they don't mess about with the software. Their Testing processes are obviously not very robust, nor is their release management. They pushed an update out to match the release of a new product, rather than delaying. I have now spent far too much time trying to get their attention to no avail...

I am now taking to social media, and see if they care then ....

    Very very very disappointed...
And if you have not worked it out yet: I work in IT....
  • Are you folks aware that Garmin announced that they found the issue with 2.80 and that they are working toward a fix by the end of the week?

Not heard, any details of what the problem actually was?
