Hi, had my Vivofit for a week and had no problems, but just tried to sync using app on iPhone and it will not sync - I'm getting a sync fail, sever error message. Is there anything I can do about this?!?!? Tried switching phone off and on again, but no joy!

Anyone else having this problem?????

    me too the same
  • Same old, same old ...

Same issue here with my 810, it'll upload a ride without issue but won't sync when it first connects and makes transferring routes via my mobile impossible!
  • Server failed sync errors on both 810 and fenix 3. Waste of money and should be able to be returned for refund as they do not function as advertsed.
Syncs errors are way to common. Almost the norm. Very poor service.

hey guys! i think i found solution...you have to sign out from connect app. and sign in again. After you enter username and password app. will ask you to accept "term and conditions" accept it. voilà it is working!

    utku

This worked for me as well. Latest iOS with iPhone 6 and Fenix2 with latest firmware. Logged out, back in, accepted EULA and voila!

Prior to this I was receiving the "Device connection error" after sync was initiated.
  • Wasn't able to sync the last three days over iphone to fenix2. I kept getting a server error and sync failure. Upgraded garmin connect app, didn't help. signed out and in, didn't help. was working fine previously. Then, I synced manually via garmin express on my laptop. This pulled up an error and recommendation for me to delete a certain file. In usb mode I removed that file. (the data was also corrupt when I synced to my garmin training center software). After the manual sync and deletion of said file, I did an app sync, and it worked fine. Hooray. That was frustrating!

try deleting all the data files

like others i tried booking on /off etc but no joy. eventually i connected via usb as suggested above and deleted all the fit activity data files on my 510. for good measure i also deleted any other files in the other sub directories that looked like data files. it now seems to sync ok again. we will see if it works long term.

Solved by eliminating manually all the items on update queue on garmin connect (not from the app, from the internet page that opens garmin connect)
    Cheers

    Sync Problem

I am having this problem since a few days. Sync without internet is not working and you do not see any training data on phone. What Garmin, if you actually go out with your devices and have no connection to internet for a few days. You know nothing about your trip!!!
    Very bad!

Second, sync with internet is also a problem, with error message "Devicesync failure" even thought my Vivoactive is connected with bluetooth, because I can install and deinstall watch faces and apps form garmin connect for ios. But sync is not reliable!
    Very bad, too!

I can return my watch til 16.8. to amazon. If this is not working I will return it.

Update: Sometimes after some hours sync will work and everything looks as if there was never a problem. BUT it costs nerves and time, and I am not willing to type posts with error reports for a fitness watch. It should work like a regular watch does!

Edge 510 and IOS sync failure

After the latest updates to the connect app my edge does not sync at all. It starts but always fails. Very frustrating.
