January Cardio badge

I’ve joined the challenge for the January Cardio badge but after running for over an hour and half today, my progress is still 0 hours.

My activity type was ‘trail running’ but if I retrospectively change it to ‘cardio’, will it affect any of the badges which have had steps/miles added to them today?

  • WHERE???  I log in to my connect account, I select the activities page, I see the list of all my indoor cycling activities, under the name of each activity there is a pull down/selection menu and the only choices that I have are

    Cycling
    BMX
    Cyclocross
    Downhill Biking
    eBiking
    Mountain Biking
    Gravel/Unpaved Cycling
    Indoor Cycling
    Mountain Biking
    Recumbent Cycling
    Road Cycling
    Track Cycling
    Virtual Cycling

  • You are posting in the iOS forum so I thought you were using the app, but it sounds like you are using the web. Click the activity you want to change. Change the type in that page either in upper left corner or by clicking the pen in upper right.

  • Hm, but which activities actually count towards the Cardio badge? Strictly when using the Cardio app, but also cardio activities like HIIT?

For the running challenges for instances, running, trail running etc count towards the challenge.

  • Only activities with the activity type "Cardio" counts for the Cardio challenge.

For running challenges you need to log running activities which mean you can use Running and all its sub types. Cardio got no sub types.

  • Isn’t walking a cardio activity, however? One cannot use a walking activity towards a cardio badge, it appears

  • For the Cardio challenge you must log your activity as "Cardio". You can log your walking as Cardio but then it will not count as Walking.

  • Thanks for the info. I guess I wont be doing the Cardio challenge then. I always log an activity for what it is - HIIT for HIIT, Indoor Cycling for spinning etc. Why would I use a generic Cardio activity when I can use the actual activity on the watch?

  • There are activities that fits good with the Cardio activity like different group trainings, dancing etc that isn't HIIT or anything else. Garmin also got a few Cardio workouts you can send to your watch.

  • Same here. I've logged a total of 4 "Cardio" exercises so far this month. Each one is ~22 minutes, mostly in Zones 4 then 3. Garmin logged the first Cardio exercise as 0.3 minutes, and it hasn't budged from that since, even though I've logged three more workouts of that type since then. What gives?

  • Could you post links to the activities?

Login to Garmin Connect Web: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activities

View the activity, make sure it is public by clicking the padlock in upper right corner, copy the web address to that page and post it here in the forum.
