Garmin Connect Sync on iOS 11

Since I updated to iOS 11, Garmin Connect Mobile no longer syncs with my Garmin Fenix 5S automatically via Bluetooth. I need to open the GC Connect App, and them manually click on the sync button (or do the same on my watch).
  • As a workaround I have to restart my iPhone every other morning. It then works flawlessly for two days before dropping the connection without being able to re-connect...

    Using a Garmin Fenix 5X (6.83.b) and an iPhone 8 Plus (11.1.2)
  • I got it to work once for a few days on my iPhone7 by toggling bluetooth on/off and then restarting the connect app. But for a week I've been trying this again and again to no avail. Finally restarted my phone, and then when I started the connect app, I got a pairing request on the watch, punched in the #, and then it connected. We'll see how long this lasts...
Update : it lasted 30 minutes or so, until I went out of range.
Garmin : when will you have a fix ?!

I have been having problems with pairing my FR235 with iPhone6. I found a solution ... i installed BT Notifier and found my device FR235 (don't close the app after connect). After that I pair with my iPhone (Settings > Bluetooth>My Devices) and since then everything works perfect.
  • iPhone 7 update 11.1.2 fenix3.having the same BT connection issues. Tried toggling BT on and off, forgetting and re-pairing, desktop update my phone/app wont even recognize the watch now. Anyone want a fenix3?
    :(
  • Hi there.
    had the same issues.
Upgraded from IOS 10 to 11 can't fix bugs.
Iphone 6s on IOS 11.1.2 unable to sync or see FR 935
Instaled app BluetoothLE and imediatly the 935 displayed the code for sync with the Garmin Connect.
    Connection for now is stable.
  • ahhhhh so frustrating ...manage to resolve this for one day...really am considering another watch....but more frustrated that Garmin aren't updating us on the progress between them and Apple...too long Garmin.....come on stand up for your dedicated customers!!!!

anyone else had ANY JOY whatsoever?

This is starting to get very frustrating... Work-around is restarting either iPhone or FR235 or sometimes both (hold down FR235 power/light button for 15s to force off, release, then press for 2s to power on).
Garmin please look into this ASAP if you are not already.
  • Due the “2. dec bug” I’ve updated my iPhone 6 to 11.2., GCM is on 4.1.3 - and after nearly a month the sync looks working normal. No need to messing with Bluetooth nor need to restart the phone.
Crossing fingers that it’s not only a one day fix from Garmin and Apple.

tiefflieger666 What watch do you have? I’ve just tried the same SW versions with my brand new out of the box 935 and it is still not being seen by GC.

ok quick update. Like some of the earlier posts I am on iOS 11.2 and the latest GC. When I used a third party BT scanner (I randomly picked BLE Scanner bc I didn’t want to buy the other apps mentioned above) the app immediately found my watch and it has connected. Now in sync mode (probably loads of data to upload so will b at it for a while I suspect) but that’s only the second time ever in the few wks I’ve owned this watch. So ???? it’s working atm
  • I have a Forerunner 735 and an iPhone X. I had regular syncing issues with this Forerunner and my old iPhone 6 but nothing like today. This morning Forerunner just refused to sync, period. I turned both devices on and off several times - no go. Then thinking that maybe deleting and reinstalling the device from the app would help, I did just that. No, it made it worse. Now I can't even add the device back to the app, the phone and the watch don't see each other. Not sure which devices' fault this is. The Forerunner is on 4.1.3, and I just updated my iPhone to the latest 11.2 - same deal. I don't know what else to do barring deleting the app on my phone and reinstalling it - and possibly wiping off the watch back to the factory settings. I honestly feel like I am about to scream. Any advice is hugely appreciated.
