Connect App Beta

Hi Eveyone,
I have the connect app on my iPhone 7 and iPad, with my fenix5s syncing to my Iphone & home wifi.
Yesterday while using the app on my iPad I had a pop up asking if I wanted to use the beta app my day, it looks nice.

Im wanting to use the my day beta app on my iPhone as well.
Would anyone know how I get the beta app also on my phone?

Cheers.

  • Hi based on the reports here on the stability of the Beta i have just enabled (i was trying to decide whether to take on the beta and must say am impressed)
I agree with the comments on the look and feel/user experience
The only "bug/issue" I have found is a legacy from previous support cases I have raised with weight (which occur across both app and web connect)
I use the index scales and the weigh ins are recorded against the wrong day in the app and the web connect (based on my time zone) with the exception of the calendar. I have checked the time zones in my profile etc and raised this with support but no progress as yet despite may exchanges and information supplied.
What this bug/issue means is that when you select the weight metrics (not the graph button) it will open up the current day and display blank then you have to go to previous day to see "today's" (per my time zone) data.
When you click on the graphs on the weight section it displays "as normal" with the time zone "offset"
  • I would have loved to see a shortcut to the connected device at the bottom of the page, rather than "challenges" or "newsfeed". It's a shame that you need to go vias the "dot dot dot - more" option. Even better, it would be great if the shortcuts were configurable :)
  • Access to the GCM beta has been slowly rolling out to users. All users will have the option to opt in once the full roll out is complete.

When you say slowly, how long are we talking as still waiting for the beta.

On mine there is an image of my watch at the top of the My Day screen which takes has a green circle at about 1 o'clock. If I tap that it takes me straight to the menu for that watch.

Interesting. I'm using a connected scale, but not the Index, but the weight shows up on the correct day for me.

Really? Are you on an iPhone? I can only access the image of the watch if I click on the "more" option at the bottom of the screen.
  • After much delay and figuring out I received a call from Garmin support today stating that they expect to roll out a fix for my weight time zone issue in the next 4-6 weeks
apparently this was a very interesting fault to trouble shoot as it only affected some users and a very limited global locations

i also had the image of the watch at the top of the screen for fast access to watch and it worked great I am iOS user.
I lost the beta app today. I did ask support today as they updated my other case and they said that the beta trial is complete and feedback is recieved
my guess is it is in final polish mode ahead of roll out soon
i assume you all have the beta removed now?

Yep. iPhone 6s. I'm on the beta of Connect Mobile though. What you're describing sounds like the production version.

The beta is still working on my phone. It did go away yesterday after it did an OS update, but I went to the Settings menu and was able to turn it back on.
  • Does the beta fix the LiveTrack issue that I am currently having? my LiveTrack is not working with my iOS 11, if the new app fix the problem, how can I get a copy of the Beta?
