Is Garmin a Scam

Garmin after-sale service and technical support is an absolute disgrace!!

Garmin refuses to engage with consumers about, or rectify, the widespread Samsung-Garmin bluetooth connection issues. Instead of trying to fix the issue they just turn a blind eye and hope that the ever growing numbers of dissatisfied customers will just disappear.

I notice that the effected consumers are now engaging in sports blogs and other watch specific content across the internet, so the brand/image damage is starting to spread. Garmin needs to come out now and openly discuss what actions they are taking to resolve this widespread issue, otherwise the brand risks being forever labelled as a scam.

  • You can also try the Samsung-related tips #23 and #24 from the Sync / Connection Troubleshooting Guide

  • Samsung s10e, Android 12, Vivoactive 4, Vivosmart 4, all connect and sync with phone, no problem here.

Wife and Son have Samsung S20, Android 12, no problems syncing there either.

None of the 5-6 people I know with Garmin watches and Samsung phones have sync issues. A couple have bluetooth reconnect isuues, but I, nor my wite and son, do not.

  • Hello

I am sorry that you are frustrated, I would be happy to help. There are a few things we need to check on your phone and watch. Can you please tell me what country you are located in, and may I have permission to view your Connect account? I may reach out to you via email to continue working with you in an organized fashion.

  • I had the Bluetooth issue for about 1 minute after I replaced my old phone with a new Samsung.  The new phone has an option to auto-reconnect to a Bluetooth signal after if was lost.  If this option is not switched on, the phone will not auto reconnect, the connection will have to be done manually.  Once I realized this was happening, I turned the option on and have not had the issue again.  Just wanted to share.
