My phone stops sending notifications to the watch

My phone stops sending text notifications to the watch. It won't send any notification except for the call notification. Other than that it stops sending suddenly and when I go to the smart notifications on the phone app the apps are allowed and it shows a message that permissions are needed and when I press on it to grant permissions it still don't work unless I remove the app and install it back again?

What shall I do.??.

I am having exactly the same issue with my Vivoactive 3 sending notifications to my iPhone. I have texts and WhatsApp coming through on my phone with all permissions granted from both the phone and watch only to find they are not coming through on the watch. I have calls come through but that’s it. It’s rather disappointing as all worked just fine before the newest update Sweat. Is there a way this can be sorted or fixed?

I think I found the origin of the problem, In the configuration area of the smartphone app (connect) there is an option of -Device sync control- looking the records I found that the last day that VA3 received notifications the version of the connect app was 4.22.1, the day after when the notifications stopped was 4.3. I had the the option for the auto update check for this app.

I´m going to reinstall the app in the One+ and not check the auto update option and I´ll try again

  • disable the power saving thing on your phones (Oneplus, think others too) for Garmin Express, Android will control the apps and set every app to power save automatic, in every app you can change it

EDITH: it's called Akku Optimization, you have the possibilty to disable it:

anyway, sometimes there is a message, one time a day, that a Garmin service stopped working, then you have to reboot your phone and the Garmin service starts again

  • I also had this problem today, bluetooth connection to Garmin devices wasn't working after the latest app update.

However, the suggestion by f|33tStA to turn off Power Optimization for the Garmin Connect app works, thanks dude.

Hi all, after 6 days last re installation, the notifications still working. The version of the last re installation was 4,23 and a few days later was upgraded to 4.23.1 without problems. I also checked the options in Connect App of no automatic upgrade and disabled the power saving (optimization) option. I think the problem is solved (crossing my fingers ;-)
