500 server error while trying to log in / add a device

Hi, i am running a iMac 5K with Mojave (10.14.3) and have the latest Express 6.12. (which autoupdated after I installed a old 6.11 version for a try)
I needed to exchange a device Vivosport because of a RMA replacement.
But as soon as I try to add the device and click on the "login" button I used to get a screen to enter userid and password.
now I only get e screen "500 server error"
Syncronising the already known "installed" devices worked, even updating maps worked (until I did the next step)

I followed the tips about complete deinstall, removing the plist (prefs, app. support, cache) emptying trash and rebooting

no success, now I have no devices and can not add any new ones :-(

trying to do the same with a WIN10 machine on the same network worked without problems.

    I have the same issue. My Sat Nav works fine with Express, even updated a small file for it whilst I was there.

    Not impressed, I can't update my 5X plus from 3.20.
    Also found that when I use the Torch it freezes and I loose my step count for the day.

    Do Garmin view these forums or do I need to contact them?


    Forgot to mention I updated Express to latest 6.12.0.0 and am running Sierra 12.0.3 on MacBook Pro.

    It's so odd, on Tuesday I updated my Garmin Edge 1000 on express with no issues. I was signed in and everything. I decided to do a factory reset on my device to do a 'clean install' of the latest firmware. Now I can't log back into Garmin Express with the same firmware and the same device on the same Mac.

    Catesy , I found that Shawn-Garmin is active in these forums. Feedback however from Garmin is very slow (acknowledging it's an issue, reporting that it's being fixed, reporting it will be rolled out in a quick-fix or next release). It looks like many more people are experiencing this issue, but additional direct contact will hopefully put more pressure on Garmin to fix this asap.
  • Updating my status above, I contacted Support via Chat. If this forum is monitored by Garmin, Kelly was very professional and engaged.

    Got a case number, sent logs. It's a Garmin issue, nothing to do but wait for resolution - though if you have time calling or chatting in to get a case opened may help with resource allocation.

    If it is on the server's end, I would expect it also no to work on Windows 10. Tried that with Edge 1030 and Vivoactive HR and both worked fine on Windows 10 w. Garmin Express.
  • I have emailed them as a few of you suggested.
    Really not impressed, unless it's a server outage or something on their end.

    As I said, I only received the Fenix 5X plus yesterday, and this has dampened my spirit & enthusiasm for the product. Haven't even had time to use it properly yet.

    I have had no issues with my Garmin Sat Nav.

    Is the Fenix 5X plus a particularly buggy product?

    It just doesn't make sense that the same version of express 6.12 with the same device works Tuesday and doesn't Wednesday. All I did was delete the profile off of express and factory reset my Edge 1000. Now I can't re-add to on the same iMac. I've changed no firmwares or installations.

    That indeed does not make sense, as like it's working on Windows 10 and not on MAC OS. In the past months I have spent numerous hours dealing with these kind of quirks. I have been in touch many times with support following up on their suggestions (usually a number of steps). Most suggestions don't work and then suddenly there's one that works. There seems to b e a lot of guessing from Garmin, instead of a proper root cause analysis.
