Garmin express "install failed. Try again" again, again, and again and....... Nothing

i had the same issue.

search garmin express on internet explorer and the top hit is to update 'garmin drivers'
I updated these and downloaded express again and it installed first time no issues. had tried a dozen times disabling firewalls etc with no luck.
is now working spot on

Thank you markbyrne1, I have tried your recommendation but with Windows Vista still does not work.

The Microsoft Windows Update mentioned in the article can cause install failures.
