I am running Windows Vista SP2 on a PC which has, until yesterday, been running Garmin Express without problem. Yesterday I opened Express but it wanted to automatically upgrade to v3.2.16.0 - which I allowed. The update downloaded fine using Google Chrome but when activated it proceeded through initialization to Installing VisualCppRedistributablex86 where it hangs and no matter what I've tried will not complete the update. I now have no Garmin Express on my PC and am unable to make the download of this new version work. Along with that problem I find that I cannot stop the installer from running on my PC with the hard disk constantly thrashing despite stopping the associated processes in Task Manager. Can somebody please help me sort this problem before I go completely mad!!!
I followed steb by step your advice, and finally i was able to install the Garmin Express. I also can confirm that the installation problems are in Windows Vista, because i installed the latest version of Garmin Express on a Windows 7 pc without any problems.
Getting very frustrated!! Everything was fine until the ANT stick stopped working. Now I can't install Express. It pauses halfway through. And yes, I already downloaded and ran the Microsoft.NET framework repair tool. I've wasted so much time searching these forums for answers!!
Getting more and more frustrated!! Express will not install. I tried downloading the Microsoft.NET thing. That didn't work. I also tried to stop that process during the install. That didn't work. There is nothing more annoying than having something that works just fine and then all of a sudden stop working because of someone else changing things!! I have a lot of activities on my watch that I'd really like to upload! I've now wasted well over 2 hours trying to get this stuff working. Those 2 hours are very valuable when you have a 1 year old running around!!
