CN NTU not updating

im supposed to be getting a lifetime maps numaps update, not the full install express is trying to force on me? where is the numaps option, because it isnt anywhere i can find it

An update is a full map replacement, you seem to think it's some sort of add on but it isn't, and never has been.

well it used to work fine, and now doesnt, the memory in my unit hasnt suddenly changed size and has never been big enough to handle 2 versions of the same maps, so can you explain how ive had 3 map updates already?
if its a full replacement it should overwrite the old version shouldnt it?

You're misunderstanding what I'm saying, or I'm not being clear enough. A map update is a completely new map, it's not some kind of add on to an existing map. The process though deletes the old map and then adds the new one.

If Express says your maps are up to date and you're sure your nuvi is showing 2013.30 are you sure you have lifetime maps? Have a look at the myMaps page in your myGarmin to check.

Then the Express team will need to look into your account as something isn't right ... don't think they'll be here over the weekend though.

mymaps says i have installed the 2015.1, it now shows up on basemap, but it hasnt been installed on the nuvi and whenever i try it says the memory is too small.
another thing now, basemap will not recognise the nuvi any more. says no device is connected.

ive uninstalled 2015.1 and put everything back the way it was using 2013.3 and its working fine again. i'll leave express running to see if it works better next update but after spending all afternoon and evening trying to sort this, express gets a huge THUMBS DOWN from me. a program that says one thing and does another is worse than useless

I suspect your best bet is to get a sd micro card. Then all should work fine. I'm not exactly sure why you're having the issues you've had, Express has never failed me yet. If Basecamp wasn't able to se your nuvi it's possible the GarminDevice.xml file has corrupted on the device. You might try the steps in this FAQ:

since a corrupt xml file will cause all sorts of problems, including the sort of problems you experienced with Express.

I shouldn't have to should I? Why should I have to spend more money because express isn't loading an update properly?

Later I'm going to try going into .regedit and clear it out and start again from scratch, I've had registry issues with garmin before
