Garmin Express Fails to Install

Garmin Express v3.2.18.0 Fails to Install

Hello,

I've been struggling to install Garmin Express for some time now and am getting really frustrated. I have Windows Vista and am trying to install Garmin Express but is failing when it reaches "visualcppredistributablex86". I've tried installing the v3.2.17.0 but that failed as well. Figured this new release would fix the issue but still failing. I do have the Windows Installer version 4.5. Any help would be really appreciated.

I have solve my issue as follows (not thanks to garmin support) hope it could help others:

Download the UIAutoMationCore.DLL here http://www.mediafire.com/download/mik2mlqdz1w/UIAutomationCore.zip
Place the dll in the same folder than the garmin express installer, it should allow installation.
Then place the same dll in the folder "express" where you install garmin express to allow the software to run.

Tried putting the dll in the directory but didn't work for me. it installed on my kid's windows 8 pc but not on my windows 7 pc.:mad:

What errors if any do you get? How does it fail? Difficult to help given what you've said so far.

At about 3/4 of the way through the error pops up.

"The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2753."
I tried installing several times and get the same error.

The whole thing is a joke. I am just an end user and I expect it to install without much difficulty. Garmin, please come out with something that is more user friendly. Thanks.

Well for most of the millions that use it it does. Where it doesn't it is almost invariably a problem at the user end, over which Garmin have no control.

Perhaps if you explained what you've tried and where it's failing we could help, but it's difficult with what little you've told us so far.

We don't even know which OS you have.

Your post has been moved into an existing thread with several suggestions. So I have a Windows Vista 64-bit computer and followed all the steps in the above link... In fact I removed every windows update since Aug 12th... I still get the same error. Please put a couple of people to work on some new code to fix this problem. I have a Garmin Edge 500 that I can't download to Garmin Connect. Fortunately, I still have ANT Agent to use for my Forerunner 910. I'd like to keep using your products.....
