Devs' ??
Download the .exe from here: https://www.garmin.com/en-US/software/express/windows/
Well that was a clusterf*^k...
Downloaded, closed all programs, ran installer, progressed further than before then went backwards on the progress bar and kicked me out again with the same messages....
This time says ElevatedInstallerInstaller.msi caused the problem........
BEST News - - No more Garmin Express on my computer - seems the installer removed the previous version before being kicked out because of the installer... tried again numerous times - same result...
Anybody got a older version - like the previous 7.24 - they can send me ??
Screenshot from my last try before bed - it's late in Japan...
I tried to PM you but it appears that you have not allowed PMs in your profile so try sending me a PM containing your email address.
Problem solved - in a very round about way...
- After attempting the upgrade my old version would not load - and killed my previous version of Express
- Uninstalled remnants old Garmin Express and reinstall newest download - No Joy - would not install as before
- Found a old version (7.22.*) on my laptop and cobbled the executables together - transferred to desktop - got it running poorly and managed to upgrade to 7.25
- Uninstalled GE and then reinstalled a clean version from the download on Garmin's site - Success...
- But no longer had old devices registered - re-registered all devices - Joy...
THEN THE REAL HEADACHE started
- Did a sync with my Edge 1040 solar - unplugged and it went into a Boot Loop
- tried all the common workarounds - no joy
- Hard master reset - now redoing all my profiles and data screens
- I'll be busy during spare time for the next few days
Bright side - - - Probably needed to flush the screens, profiles, pages and courses from the 1040 as it had WAY too much crap on there anyways
Thanks to all those in this community that helped - having you guys to communicate & spit ball a solution with as opposed to waiting for an "official" response kind of talked me down off the ledge / kept me from launching something against the wall...
Cheers all...
