Garmin Express Version 7.18.1.0 now available

I installed 7.18.1.0 and it was a forced update (Critical Update) from version 7.18.0.0 that I had installed. Info is now in release  notes above:

  • Resolved an issue with activity files being deleted from a device after being synced.
    • Note: These activities are synced and uploaded to Garmin Connect.

    appreciate that but I am a high level technical user

    even tried a universal machine.config file with that setting to make it the system-wide default

    After updating to this Version, the program doesnt start any longer. Never had this behaviour with all the Update before.

    all tips from the  Garmin website brought no solution....

    What version of Windows are you running?  As a test, you might also go to the garmin.exe executable and chose to run that as Administrator.  The path is C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\Express and then look for garmin.exe.  Right click on that file.

    I´m running Windows 10 professional with latest version and patches. The exe-File for Garmin Express is named "express.exe" placed in C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\Express. Running as administrator has no affect. The program crashes. Never had such a problem with this program before. Although I´m logged in with admin-user account (group administrator), i tried additionally to change my personal rights to full access-no effect.

    Exactly same problem here after updating GE to 7.18.1.0 on Win10 and none of the suggested fixes helped.
