Installed. No issues.
I have most of the macintosh versions and many for Windows. Just let me know what you'd like to try.
Thanks Allory it worked. It wasn't as shiny and bright as you could hope, but it did the trick.
Below I will tell what happened, just as a reference to someone with a similar problem wanting to try…
Be careful - this is NOT(!) a Garmin site! I think, somewhere here in the forum i did read from a user who downloaded an older version from there, that he has problems with some strange advertises after installing the program...
Better to look in the path i posted above - this are the 'real' programs and every time a new version will be downloaded by the update-routine from Garmin Express, a copy of the installer will be saved there - so this a definitiv safe to look for older versions.
Thanks for the warning. But my ...\CoreService directory does not contain a Downloads directory. Do you know of any place I can get an older version?
(Actually I hoped someone from Garmin would have read this and profided me with a site within the Garmin-company which holds an older version.

Updated to 7.6.0.0, restarted the computer, and after that Express kept asking my password. After 16 times giving the password I just clicked the dialogscreen away and suddenly it connected to my Edge 1030 Plus. Then it stated a mapupdate is available, but when clicking Install, i get the passwordscreen again and again. So now I have a 600,- device that can't update to recent maps. Please fix this!!!!

The last step was not actually necessary but it does give you the correct name of the update you received. I would have liked to see the name in either Express or better still the navigator itself.
So that after 20 months or so I can do a quick check to see what my last map update is.
But, I am very happy this succeeded.
Thanks again very much for helping Allory, may you farewell.
