The waypoint management features for the Fenix 3 will work once firmware 4.21 has been released. I am not sure what the time table is for the release, but my understanding is that the new firmware should be available soon.

    Thanks for the clarification.
  • All My OSM Generic Maps will not load anymore.

I get the error: "An Error Occured when attempting to use OSM Generic Routable (....) map product"

Edit: All these Maps are loaded onto a USB Drive.

I have observed the same problem. Solution was to clean BaseCamp cached data from user directory. I'm not sure which particular data, since I have deleted all.

This doesn't help for maps on virtual drive created by ImDisk. BaseCamp sees the map, reads it at start, but gives error popup, when attempting to use map.

I have BC 4.4.7 running fine. I tried to upgrade from BC 4.4.7 to 4.5.0 yesterday. I am running Windows 10 Home. It appears that 4.5.0 now has a requirement for Windows Media Player >= version 11, however W10Home doesn't support WMP. BC during the install detects the lack of WMP & opens a Microsoft WMP web page (current version is 12) however this is pointless (as I've just explained). I downloaded & tried installing WMP11 but this also failed. Any workarounds or plans?

Yes, but back up your data first and you may need to make sure your older Basecamp is looking at the correct database. Alternatively if you've done a back up via Basecamp you should be able to do a 'restore'.

Worked as a Charm, first did a backup (didn't do that in the "old" version, but will do from now on when a new version is available ;) ) then exported "My Collection". Uninstalled 4.5.0 and installed 4.4.7 and everything works fine (and more importantly no problem reading my Maps ;) ) everything is still there so no restore necessary, however YMMV ;)

A quick search for "windows media player" shows a couple of threads that address this, from versions before 4.5. One: https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?204935-Basecamp-Windows-8-1-issue-solved

4.5.0 don't work with garmin epix!

Volker, I haven't updated BC yet to 4.5.0. Have you experienced problems (like described on the epix thread)?
  • Yes, basecamp 4.5.0 bricked my epix after transferring wp/tracks via basecamp. With 4.4.7 it was working well.

Got it. Thank you for your reply, Volker!
  • Since I updated to 4.50 Basecamp always tells me that my Montana 600 has updated firmware available. I get a popup window stating that the Montana has version 6.50 and a new version 6.50 is available. If I let the updater try to do the update anyway it tells me that I already have the latest version. Is there any way to convince BC that I don't need to update my Montana? Both the Montana firmware and time zone map file are the latest from Garmin.
