I had noted the use, yet again, of 'hopefully' - indeed, in asking for particularity in my original message, as I am sure you noted, I referred to the use of the word in your message of a few weeks ago about a new release. I did not pick up on the use of the expression yet again for fear of appearing too blunt but, as you raise it, I fear I must make the points that I have been trying to make diplomatically rather more forcefully.

It will not do to say that the development team will 'hopefully' address this issue and to pray in aid 'shifting priorities'. Someone needs to organise a proper list of such priorities and stick to them, whilst at the same time making some attempt to keep your beta testers (sorry, customers) informed of when long standing errors in the program such as this might be fixed (but also many others, e.g., the obscuring of road names/designations mentioned elsewhere in this thread).

As the both the moderator and I have pointed out, UK address search has been a problem with this program for as long as I can remember. You will note that, unhappily, I have been a subscriber to this forum, if not a regular correspondent, since 2010. The reason that I originally subscribed was to raise issues with Postcode search but it rapidly became clear that address search was equally borked. My posts and those of the moderator are not the only ones: it's been a source of endless complaint since this program was introduced and (notwithstanding the recent advice to Zumo 660 owners) we were all told that BC was the future and to move from MS. Still basic usability errors persist.

This issue should have been addressed (pun intended) years ago - literally - and it is a sad commentary on Garmin's management of its software development that, even now, the company should still pray in aid 'shifting priorities' (humph!) for not being able to give a clear statement about when it intends that the problem should be fixed. Manyana is simply not acceptable.

Please ensure that this message is brought to the attention of a member of the management team with an invitation to reply, authoritatively, here.

With the fenix 3 connected, you can now see the locations as advertised in the update BUT you cannot
    manage them properly...

If you select and delete a waypoint(s) and/or track(s) in the internal storage, send to device, disconnect watch and reconnect the deleted items will have returned.

Any thoughts on whether this is basecamp or watch firmware issue?

    Bug

If one selects a number of routes and then opens them together the Summary shows the total distance, as designed. But if one of the routes has, for some reason, zero distance, the Summary chokes on that and gives no total distance information at all. The software should, IMO, simply disregard zero distance routes.

    Please see screen capture attached:
  • Not sure how you can a have a route with zero mileage? If by chance you do why not simply delete it?

Sometimes I need those weird zero mileage routes as placeholders when planning a multi day trip and don't know yet what excursions to do for a given day. They are created by Trip Planner when you stop at a hub for several days without going anywhere. Yes, I could delete them and then the bug would not apply, but it would still be a bug.
  • Got it now. You're in trip planner when it happens. Sounds like a bug then.

Would you give me your exact steps to reproduce? Such as how many days and how you are multi-selecting? This way I can recreate your issue and raise the issue.

    Thanks!

    Thanks!

    • Create a new two day one way trip from Los Angeles, CA to San Simeon, CA.
    • On Day 1 you have the Los Angeles to San Simeon route.
    • On Day 2 you have nothing.
    • Add San Simeon, CA to Day 2, not going anywhere, just adding it to Day 2. Now you have a second route, with zero mileage.
    • Exit Trip Planner, go to My Collection and click on hub San Simeon. The bottom window will show two routes, one for each day.
    • Select the two routes (Ctrl-Click or Shift-Click) and right-click Open.
    • You get the Properties window for the 2 routes selected with no mileage total in the summary.

No matter how many days/hubs you add to the trip after that, with or without routes, the moment the software hits that first zero mileage route the summary fails.

    Hope it helps.

    Search Dropdown Partially Hidden

When searching in Trip Planner if the edit box is at the bottom of the screen the search dropdown opens beyond the screen area, becoming partially hidden and making selection hard. May I suggest that, like with most software, if there's not enough room for a dropdown to open fully below the edit box the dropdown then opens above it.

Please see the screen capture attached showing the problem:

    TIA
