• Fixed issue with inserting route or track points with the hand tool not always choosing the correct insert location
  • Fixed various other issues

Post here if you have questions.

The non-English language version of the software will be available through the in-application software update check shortly.

Please post any bugs you may find here.

Thank you all in advance for any feedback you may have.

*4.4.5 as a version number was skipped to be in-line with the Mac version.
  • Although not mentioned in the update history I also noticed that the option 'curvy roads' has improved.

However: in longer routes the algoritm still chooses interstates; even when they are set to avoid.
  • Insert tool do not work as before, if you extend a existing track and you click the last point of the track and create with the tool (insert) a new point the system come with two new line to extend the track, before you click a new point and the tool extend the track by one single line, very strange.

Can you show me a screen shot of what it is you are seeing here? I'm curious about this.

I think I see what he means:

If you want to extend a track; previously you could 'hoover' over the last trackpoint and click when you see a dot instead of a line. Currently you don't get a dot, just a line to add a via between the last two trackpoints. When working with a route instead of a track the extention works fine.

To illustrate: in the situation below (insert button selected) you would expect a 'big black dot' instead of a line.

Just updated or tried to update ... I have tried three or fourth times... get same message... first time with this issue for me.

This occurred from trying to update within BaseCamp from the HELP, Check for updates option... but downloading from the website and the link did work: http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=4435
  • Last August, in the "4.3.5 available" thread, I reported:

"In the lower data pane, setting the sort to ”by name” is not kept between sessions, when you re-open it reverts to "by symbol". Even just swapping map and data views will screw up the sort order. I think this had been fixed in 4.2.5 but maybe I saw this on-and-off problem mentioned as having returned on a previous 4.3.x version thread, but assumed it should have been corrected by this one?"

JM47048 responded that this was a known issue.

It seems this is still not fixed in 4.4.6. Any chance this bug could get priority to be fixed soon? Seems a straightforward matter that's been around too long... Thanks in advance.

Speaking of curvy roads is there any reason that the curvy road option can not be added to the Automobile Driving profile? Some of us may drive older sports cars and like to set up rally routes.
The curvy option might b helpful.

You might simply use the motorcycle profile...

Be beware: assuming you use a Nuvi: creating a route like this causes a risk: as soon as you would divert from the route it will be recalculated based on Nuvi-settings (so: no curvy).

Even is you design a route with 'curvy'I would recommend to add extra via's to make sure the route remains intact.
