I know that we can download POI from the POI Factory. But is there a way to transfers those which are in my GPS to BaseCamp?

Thanks
  • Yes, I thought that too ... seems we were both confused :)
  • I am talking about the one that are part of the map. Guess I will forget that.

    Thanks anyways

Those are part of the mapset and are already in Basecamp. When you use the search feature you are searching the built in POIs.

Unfortunately, "POI" or "Points of Interest" is a very overloaded term. It means different things to different people.

Currently there isn't a way to copy the map data from the device to the PC.

Back to the first question Lapin16, you have POIs on your GPS and you want to have them in BaseCamp.
I have custom POIs on my 650, the only way to display gpi files is as follow (my BC is in French so the menu translation is as is)
    1. On the menu line on top of the screen you go all the way down of the drop down menu for "Maps" (Cartes for me) On the bottom after the last map you have an area with "Info on installed maps" and just below "Info on installed POI files" (information sur les fichiers de POI installés). When you click on that, a pop up panel shows you POI files on your GPS. You activated whichever you want.
    2. With the search tool you select POI > Options > more options > and the last option is Custom POI. With the search windows you will now display all and only POI in the area. You can create Waypoints with your search result, but you cannot copy them as POI.
At least it works for my POI coming from older Mapsource creation.
  • Thanks. If you read the whole thread this has already been covered and he's talking about POIs installed as part on the map, not separate .gpi files.
