  • 4.3.3 working fine so something wrong with your PC. Have you tried this:

Anyone getting a Windows file .dll error message after updating BaseCamp on a Vista, 7, or 8 computer should uninstall BaseCamp then delete the C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\BaseCamp folder. Reinstall BaseCamp and the error should not return.

Version 4.3.3 is NOT fine. The many posts to the contrary attest to that fact.

I have just dealt with product support. They had me install 3 Microsoft C runtime library versions. No help whatsoever. Downloaded and re-installed BaseCamp 4.3.3 two times. No help.

Version 4.2.5 runs just fine on BOTH my desktop AND my laptop. Both are running Windows 7 64bit. No problems at all.

NEITHER will run version 4.3.3. They both produce the following error:
    First error dialog box:
    Runtime Error
    Program: C\program files(x86)\garmin\basecamp.exe
    R6034
An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly.
Please contact the applications' support team for more information.

    Second error dialog box:
    basecamp.exe - application error
The application was unable to start correctly
    (0xc0000142)
    Click to close

Until someone comes up with a definitive fix for this I shall relegate newer versions of BaseCamp to the trash heap.

Version 4.2.5 runs without issues. I'll stick with it.

Post above this, and the post below read to me that we have the same problem. Back to 4.2.5 which doesn't seem to like Google Earth.
  • Guys,

    Please somebody help me.
I have upgraded to 4.3.3 but now I can not see my data!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have tried to restore from previous version but nothing.
    Restoring backup doesn´t work either.
I believe this to be due the fact I have been working on a database located at my cloud/local “OneDrive”. I can see the database still in there but I don´t know what to do…
    Thank you,

433 still not working with updated win7

I have the same problem than many here: BC 433 starts and then stop very quickly (unable to read the vanishing message); if I try to restart, it says it's already running (actually visible in the list of running processes) but impossible to find and view it!
I unistalled it and installed back version 425; but unfortunately this one is now badly running (unable to stop or cycling without possibility to do anything else) and also this message "already running"!
    Any idea?

This is only for a new database.
I need is the Basecamp 4.3 to restore my database version 4.2 that is in the folder 4.2 . full path: Skydrive->Documents->Database->4.2.

    tks.
  • No, you can make it point to an existing database. You'll need to rename 4.2 to 4.3 though.

Ok, I got it. Here it is how. It´s little bit odd but...

You have to create a new database in the directory where you had you previous one. Than Basecap will restore it.
But be aware that the name of the file database in the drive will be always alldata.gdb no mather the name you give to the new one on the edit->option.
That name you gave will only appear in the root of the directory inside Basecamp.

    Thank you Sussamb.

I have just upgraded to BaseCamp 4.3.3 (without issue on a Win7 x64 machine). I'm disspointed to see one particular tool has been removed from the software: there is no "select" button that would allow me to select features. My choices seem to be to pick one item at a time or all of them. I also can no longer drag items from the map view to transfer between the computer and the handheld. I find this quite frustrating. Will this feature be returned in future releases? In the meantime, were can I download the previous version?
