  • I thought a uninstall/installed solved the problem. But today i'm not able to launch the SW. DLL errors. Back to 4.2.5!

    Latest advice is

Anyone getting a Windows file .dll error message after updating BaseCamp on a Vista, 7, or 8 computer should uninstall BaseCamp then delete the C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\BaseCamp folder. Reinstall BaseCamp and the error should not return.

This was what happened on my install of 4.3.1. Today I installed 4.3.3 on both a Win7 laptop and a Win8.1 tablet from within BC and had no problems. It even remembered my toolbar layout.
    WHEW!:)

Will I lose my saved route? I've spent ages working out a ten day holiday and don't want to lose it!
  • Data isn't affected so your saved route should be fine. You can always back it up first.

On my laptop, a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro I have had issues with every new release of BaseCamp. The previous version, 4.2.5 worked! But after updating today to 4.3.3 it's the same all over again..have tried uninstalling and installing again...but it doesn't even start! :-( What's the problem with software from Garmin?
I have a resolution of 3200 by 1800 on my computer, and after trying to change the resolution to 1920 by 1080, and adjusting the scaling, at least BaseCamp starts! But when changing back to the original higher resolution, and changing the scaling it doesn't start! Garmin, please try your software on different systems and with different resolutions and scalings before releasing your updates...this is SO SO FRUSTRATING!!! Please make it work like 4.2.5 did, on my Lenovo with a reoslution of 3200 by 1800 and with a 250% scaling! Nobody else has had these issues? I have Windows 8.1.1 64 Bit version. Would be greatful for replies!

I'm sure they do but they can't try every combination of every scaling/resolution with every PC/laptop/mac etc out there. Clearly yours doesn't work too well at certain scalings/resolutions ... I'm sure it'll do no harm to use one that does until it can be resolved.

SUSSAMB, of course I can use a different resolution in the meantime...just a bit frustrating that every update brings some problems, at least for me...4.2.5 worked well with my high resolution and scaling, strange that 4.3.3 doesn't!? And the version before 4.2.5 didn't work either, while the update before that one did...I hope they solve it!!!
