Recalculating

Does anyone else have this problem or is it just me?

I create my routes in BC 4.2.5 and upload it to my 660. When I start my route all is well, exactly 10 minutes into the route the 660 automatically does a recalculate, after that all seems to be fine. The problem is sometimes the recalculated route is not exactly what I planed in BC. This problem doesn't show up on every route so I really don't know what the issue is. It seems to happen with every route I plan leaving my house, but I have had it happen with routes from other locations.

I can reproduce the problem in simulated mode and it's always 10 minutes in to the route. If after the 660 does a recalculate if I stop the recalculated route and reload the original route no matter where I am in the route it will still do a recalculate exactly 10 minutes into the route.

This is driving me nuts, of course it's a short trip....

    STUARTMW is correct, I've helped too may users by uploaded GPX and image files, I'm out of space and my requests to fix this issue have not been responded to. I don't want to just delete stuff I've uploaded because this would effect previous posts.

    I just tried a Master Reset and ran one of the problem routes, still have the same issue at exactly 10 minutes.

    True but then old posts with attachments may become meaningless. As they say "a picture is worth a 1,000 words".

    I've always tried to keep attached files small but it doesn't take long to get to 1MB. I have deleted old attachments before but try and avoid that for the above stated reason.

    The obvious solution is to use external photo sharing and/or file sharing sites but one can still have issues if those sites change or disappear etc.

    Ah well, without a route to look at I'm not sure anyone can help. None of my routes have done that, though I'm using CN EU and not CN NA but am on Basecamp 4.2.5

    Would that be the (almost) exact same point in the route? I doubt the elapsed time is the issue. My bet is the location. Could be a map issue that only your device sees.

    No I think it's time, because if I'm following the route and at 10 minutes it recalculates if I select to reload the original route and continue on the route in 10 minutes it will recalculate and this will continue on down the road if I keep reloading the original route.

    I’ll suggest two things you can try. The first is that sometimes the files the devices create become corrupted. Try downloading all of the files on your device to an empty list in BaseCamp. Delete the files on the device and cycle thru an on/off. Then send them back to the device and check if the simulation works.

    The second thing to try is to copy the route in BaseCamp and paste it into MapSource. Recalculate the Route and verify it hasn’t changed. Export the Route (gpx file from MapSource) and manually transfer it to the appropriate folder on the device and test it. It that works, you can send the routes exported from MapSource and BaseCamp to Garmin for them to figure out what is wrong.

    Thanks for your thoughts, I've tried suggestion one with no luck. suggestion two I'll have to work on, I need to see if I still have a copy of Mapsource, I uninstalled MS from my computer years ago.

    Can someone please try this route and see if they get the recalculate? I had problems with this route last year when I rode it, again exactly at 10 minutes. This is the first one I experienced this problem with.
