If I'd like to send maps to Mobile PC, then I would have to run MapInstall manually. This is some kind of inconsistency. I hope you won't delete support form MapInstall.
Correct, BaseCamp does not support MobilePC. I am not aware of any plans to remove MobilePC support from MapInstall.
Postal code search only works for geo-coded postal codes like in the UK or Canada. It's no different than MapSource in that regard.
In MapSource you can search for addresses by street name and postal code. The Zumo and the Nuvi also permit address search by street name and postal code. I always use postal codes rather than city names that are much more ambiguous. Postal codes are geo-coded also outside the UK and Canada. They designate a unique geographic area coded in the mapset. BaseCamp should use them.
Hello Falagar! I use the basecamp (basestation) for garmin astro and garmin alpha. In the beta version 4.2 I can see my collection and waypoints on the map visualize while dogs in same time ? I can do the same with the custom maps and bird's eye? I hope your answer! thanks : Confundido:
In 4.2 you can see BirdsEye and CustomMaps. You cannot see waypoints, routes and tracks from My Collection, only the your GPSs position, you dog(s)' position and the associated tracks.
I added a screen-shot for a feature that was added in the 4.2.0.4 Beta, choosing the location for BaseCamp's database.
This should work with Dropbox or Skydrive as well. You just don't want two people making changes at the same time. Changing the location will not copy your data from the old location to the new. You'll have to make a backup at the old location and restore in the new one.
