BaseCamp 4.1.2 is available at http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=4435. The update from within BaseCamp should also work.

This is a maintenance release, so it's pretty much all bug fixes. No new features were implemented for this version.

The list of changes:
  • Fixed an issue with Basestation mode.
  • Fixed an issue where BaseCamp would not remember the positioning of the toolbars correctly.
  • Fixed an issue where the Custom POI symbols from POI files where incorrect.
  • Fixed an issue with the address search.
  • Fixed an issue where refreshing a search was using the last location on the map, not the current one.
  • Fixed an issue where Cutting (Ctrl-X) a photo on a device would delete the photo and prevent the user from pasting it.
  • Fixed an issue with some Asian language map products.
  • Fixed an issue with deleting track points.
  • Fixed an issue with route creation in a folder.
  • Fixed an issue where the hand tool was not always set as the default tool.
  • Fixed some menu inconsistencies between find results, context menus, and map popup menus.
  • Changed translations of Walking and Hiking activity profiles in Dutch.
  • I have BaseCamp v.4.2.1 and Mapsource 6.16.3

In BaseCamp I can search for and locate a UK Post Code but, I can't input a house number. Is it possible to input a house number when searching for a UK Post Code, please?

Where in BaseCamp are the search facilities found in Mapsource of "City" and "Address". If I put a town name in to the search box in the top right-hand corner and click on the spyglass nothing is found?

Can anyone help with this, please?
  • Not sure which map you're using but if CN EU you can just type the street and town in the search box, separated by a comma, eg Gorse Avenue, Chichester.

I'm using CN EU NT 2013.4

Thanks for the suggestion but, If I type (say) York Street,Cambridge and the map is centred over and displaying (say) Colchester only, the search comes back with all the "York Street"s in Colchester not Cambridge. Only if I centre the map on Cambridge and display only Cambridge does the search find York Street, Cambridge. Quite bizarre.

If I have the entire UK located on the visible map and search York Street,Cambridge it doesn't locate York Street in Cambridge but instead locates York ROAD in MANCHESTER, amongst other non-Cambridge "York" related locations - even more bizarre!

Do you find you have to have the location of the street that you are searching for located in view, please?

    Thanks for your help.
  • Strange, I've just checked with 4.2.1 and it appears to work slightly differently to previous versions, or maybe I was only trying it for addresses near to where I had Basecamp centered. What does now work is as follows:

Select Find, Find Options from the toolbar or use the Ctrl + Alt + F shortcut. Start to enter the town in the location box until you can select it from the drop down list. Now enter the street in the search box and the map recenters to the town and Basecamp displays any possible matches. Simple when you know how :)
