  • No, that's not the issue. If you select the waypoint filter on the left hand data pane and just click on any waypoint Basecamp will change the zoom level and/or move the map so the clicked waypoint will be visable on the map. So, if I had previously selected a route to show on map and just clicked on a waypoint to get a phone number, etc. the route displayed may be now off the map. I think that made sense; maybe not :)
  • So it does ... that's definitely a change from 3.3.3, there you had to right click and select 'show on map'.

Must say that's not a change I like, maybe it's unintentional and can be fixed in the next release?

    Yes, makes sense.

How about right-click on a waypoint, then "Open". That will open the waypoint without moving the map.

EDIT: No, take it back. Bad test case on my part. That only works if the waypoint is selected first. Kinda defeats the purpose for you.
  • That would be OK, but it doesn't, map still moves/zooms

    Edit: Just seen your edit!
  • Downloaded new update just fine. One issue is the font color when using Info on a route. In the left panel Summary, the font is white and quite unreadable. Any suggestions on how the change or modify the font color back to black?

This problem is actually in the Mac version. It will be fixed in the upcoming 4.0.2 release. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Following the link works for me, but try this in bmp rather than jpeg
I was not saying that I could not see the image linked in your first post. What I was saying is that I could not make anything in my copy of BaseCamp look like your image. Based on following posts, can I assume you are using a Mac version? I use a PC and that could be the difference.

    Hi guys/girls,
I have been a dormant member since a few months. But a few weeks ago I replaced my 8y old eTrex Vista (without a letter) by this awesome GPSMAP62st.
I have been using mapsource for years and now I am trying to master BaseCamp.
With 4-01 I am experiencing some difficulties.
    1) After sending a route or a track from baseCamp to my device there is no confirmation. To be honest I am not sure v3 did that but I am missing this.
The data are on my device but I really like to see if the transfer was succesfull.
    2) After connecting my device there is no informatie on the BaseCamp screen about the routes and tracks on my device. v3 showed this perfectly.
    3) After clicking "internal data" (not sure about the English term) I suddenly get to see another map, it looks like the basemap, but the chosen Chart product still says OSMBenelux.
    4) Directly after disconnecting the GPSMAP62st BaseCamp crashes.
    Error:
    Runtime Error
    Program: BaseCamp
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
    etc...

Am I the only one with these phenomena?

    Thanks for your time, Len.

Is there a reason to always have the map move to a waypoint's location just by selecting the waypoint? Many times I'm working on a route and just want to get the properties of a waypoint. The map gets moved to that point and then I have to get back to where I was after looking at the waypoint property. Perhaps a single click to select the waypoint and a double click to move the map. You can always use the right click to show on map.

Also, if you have the data filters showing on the left data pane and swap map and data views when you swap back your filters are gone. You need to redisplay them again. Can we remember that the filters were on when we come back?

I'll investigate the selection behavior. I am not sure if that was intentional or if it's just a bug.

I thought remembering the filter worked. I'll double-check. That should be easily fixable.

1.) There is a green bar on the device when you send stuff to it. If it stays green and eventually goes away, everything went well.
2.) That's definitely not how it should be. I'd have to see the gpx files from your device to know why that doesn't work.
3.) BaseCamp can display maps from your device. If you have the same map on your PC as well, then you will have two entries for that map.
4.) That is certainly not how it should be.

I'd be interested in seeing your data. Could you send me (via personal message) your GarminDevice.xml file and your device's GPX folder (zipped up). Then I should be able to reproduce what you are seeing and hopefully also fix your data. If sending the zipped file via PM doesn't work, put it on Dropbox or Skydrive and share it with me.

    Problems with 4.0.1

I too have the font problem in Info/Summary but that is not a deal breaker so can wait until 4.0.2.

However, since this update I can't drag a route to go in the desired direction nor move anything using the option key, when it does attach to anything it just draws a grey box that increases in size with dragging but apparently does nothing.
