Zoom tool center map function is broken

The zoom tool has several functions, but one part is not working anymore:

Short left mouse click on map normally centres the pointed map position and zoom's in one level. The centring is broken.

The dragging a rectangle and the zoom in and/or zooming out by using the right mouse button are working also as they always did.

I think the zoom tool is getting better and better. Now if you couldplease integrate a push on the mouse wheel/middle button so that a press and drag would pan I'd be a happy BaseCamper.;)

Try using the keyboard arrows to pan, in stead of do it all with mouse?

Works always, what ever tool and is much better to pan the map (more control), especially with heavy (lot of information) maps like Topos on slower computers.

Please keep in mind that an Mac does not have a middle mouse.

I have been using a mouse with a scroll wheel on my Mac for many years and I don't think I'm the only one. I just got a MacBook Air and there are many options to use gestures on the trackpad for rotating, scrolling, zooming, etc.

I mostly use Windows Basecamp, but I see that these gestures work in Basecamp on the Mac. So it would seem that things are already covered on the Mac and adding the middle button click feature would just provide one more option for panning the map.

Thanks for the tip. Almost as nice as middle button drag. I think we have the same goal. I hate having to use a menu button in the midst of a pan/zoom.
