Basecamp will not transfer route to Drive 51 device but does transfer waypoints

The waypoints transfer but the route does not.

I have used multiple transfer methods and all appear to work, green check on internal storage and route is present when viewed in Basecamp.

Once disconnected, not route only waypoints.  Same result on a second Drive 51.  Only 7 waypoints.

Created route on Drive 51, transfered route to Bascamp, re-named and transfered back to Drive 51 with same result, no re-named route, only original.

Tried older version of Basecamp, same result. Running Basecamp version 4.7.4, software ver. 6.70 on Drive 51, maps are 2023.1

We use the drive 51 on our small buses and want all the routes to match. Spent multiple hours looking and trying different findings from searches to no avail.

  • Split the trip in two and the route up transfered!

Is there a magic number for the number of miles or number of waypoints, maybe documented somewhere?

That for all the help in finding a solution to this issue!

  • No as it's a combination of length and complexity. Glad it's working for you now though.

  • I have just seen the same problem on my Drive Assist 51..   and found the following.

First, there have been many routes I have created  to a destination and also include the return trip to the origination point..   This of course means my home address waypoint is loaded into the route twice, 1st being the route origination waypoint and the last use of the same waypoint as the final destination waypoint in the route as the final return location..

I have also had other waypoints a given route twice e.g. a carpool where riders are picked up and on the return route dropped off before returing to my own final destination.

All of these type routes, have worked fine until my Drive Assist 51 firmware upgraded to 6.70...

Now the GPS gives an error message saying can not load (...named...) route when the same waypoint in listed twice in any route during the Basecamp to transfer the route to the GPS..

By trial and error experimentation, rather than using the same named waypoints twice, I have to put in two separately named waypoints of the same physical location, using one for the outgoing route and the other for the return route.

This would explain why breaking the route up into separate routes, one being the outgoing route and the other the return route, e.g. no use of same named waypoint in a given route.
