Virb Edit is GONE

Wow I wrote this on my phone and I sound like a 10 year old. My apologies.

I had Virb edit 2.6 loaded on my home PC (Windows 7 pro x64) and hadn't used it for a few months. I jump on last night and I needed an update. I download the update. and go to install it, I click yes and nothing.

I uninstall all versions of Garmin software AND dot net 4.3.something and 1.1. I try to install once again, it prompts for dot net and installs 4.3.something and then gets to the "this will install VIRB Edit , it may take a few minutes". I click yes, and the process stops and everything stops. On my task manager I can see the virb process cease... nothing.

I downloaded 10 different versions. None will load. NOW I have no virb edit at all on my machine. I ran a virus and malware scan. nothing. Turned off EVERY startup item and restarted. Nothing. ran Ccleaner and cleaned my registry. restarted. nothing.

Can anyone help? :) Thank you!

I'm sorry to hear the installer isn't working for you.

Still cannot edit any of my flight videos. I'm about to sell all the Garmin equipment I've got and just go with go-pro.

Please don't make me do that. HELP

Solution found !!!

I called the UK Garmin Support desk, the tech I spoke to said they were aware of the issue and gave me a workaround, so god knows why they haven't put something workable on the website.

Anyway, it's really easy, all you need to do is download the 3.1.0 install file as usual. This time don't run it but "extract" it into a new folder using Winzip, this will then give you all the install files, launch the installation .exe file from there (I forget what it was called) and it installs perfectly (well it did for me). I cant believe their entire program was brought to a screeching halt by a mislinked extraction process.

can't install virb edit

tried unpacking the exe and i still don't install. can't even uninstall virb edit. seems to be looking for VIRBMAIN.msi. even if i locate the VirbMain.msi still say it's not the proper file.
plz help if possible.

I apologize for the trouble.

Try uninstalling VIRB Edit, re-downloading the latest version and installing it again. That often does the trick.

can't even uninstall. get the same thing when i install. this is what i get in the pop ups..

the feature you are trying to use is on a
network resource that is un available.

click ok to try again, or enter an alternate path to a
folder containing the installation package VIRBMAIN.msi in the box below

then when i find the virbmain.msi it says it's not a valid instalation package.
