The menu on the Virb Elite and my Android Phone both have the Date and Time option for turning on and off but all my videos are without date and time. How can I get that information on my videos? This is very important since I use my VIRB for documenting rides.
New VIRB Basic (Xmas present) latest firmware 3.90 VIRB edit latest 2.8.0 Window 7 (64 bit) all up to date. 500gb free disk space 8mb RAM.
trying to add simple time and date sensors, but drag and drop shows the plus but no sensor appears. Tried before export and then exported to see if the gauges magically appeared ... but no.
Suggestions or advice appreciated. Or not possible with non-Elite basic VIRB?
I've just tried with my Virb and it appears you need to add some form of GPS track first (eg from a Garmin Edge or similar). It's not something I'd noticed before because I use the data from my Virb Elite normally.
Thanks for checking it out. Saved me much head scratching, and I can move on. Not about to schlep another piece of kit around, just for a time stamp.
But seems a bit of a shame, as the cam has an internal clock and even us Basic cheapies should be able to put time & date on our videos. After all, inexpensive dash cams do!
I've just been reading the user manual and I noticed a couple of things, you have to set the Date and Time manually on the Virb (Elite picks it up from the GPS) and you appear to be able to put a Date stamp on still photos.
I've not tried either of these, I'll have a play when I get home from work.
