Advanced users: we're providing tools to create truly-customized gauges. We are releasing our rendering API, a gauge-viewing app, and example gauge files to aid in creation of your personalized gauges. Now you can make gauges that look and behave exactly as you want them. View this post for details.

Everyone: We're also providing a way for users to import custom gauges/templates into VIRB Edit. We've created this forum for users to publish their creations and for users to download them.

another thought just popped in my head, it would be great if there was a way to export lay outs so you can use them on different comps etc

    From RUSSELMI's post at:https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?87975-Guide-Creating-custom-overlays-for-VIRB-Edit&p=304780#post304780

    Gauge file (VEG) locations
    Windows - C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\VIRB Edit\Telemetry\Widgets
    Mac - /Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Garmin/VIRB Edit/Telemetry/Widgets

    Template file (VET) locations
    Windows - C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\VIRB Edit\Telemetry\Templates
    Mac - /Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Garmin/VIRB Edit/Telemetry/Templates

When you zip the telemetry directory you can transport it to any PC/Mac and unzip it there (in the appropriate spot)

For Win7 the original templates and widgets are located in this directory:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\VIRB Edit\Templates
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\VIRB Edit\Widgets
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\VIRB Edit\SpecialWidgets

Try here - note that the App Data folder is a 'hidden' folder so you will need to make sure you can view 'hidden items' first - Windows Explorer (NOT Internet Explorer) then View and then make sure the tick is removed from 'Hidden Items'.

    C:\Users\[NAME]\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\VIRB Edit\Database\2\Templates

    cheers

    Steps from the start:
    Go to edit the movie.
Edit the template. (until you do the next step, the template will only be available in this video as it will be saved in the corresponding RawMovie directory)
Click on "Save as new Template", give the template a name and save it.
(at this point your template will be saved in : C:\Users\[NAME]\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\VIRB Edit\Database\2\Templates)
Go to C:\Users\[NAME]\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\VIRB Edit\Database\2\Templates and copy and past it to the same directory of your other PC.

The directory C:\Users\[NAME]\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\VIRB Edit\Database\2\Templates is a hidden directory but I assume you've already found it.

Actually, we've changed the location for this.

We will still read templates from the old location, but new saved templates go in: C:\Users\[NAME]\AppData\Roaming\Garmin\VIRB Edit\Telemetry\Templates.
