You can download it at http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=6591, the in-application update will go live shortly as well.

This is a fairly small update. We improved handling of some G-Metrix data types and added support for Cycling Dynamics sensors (Power phase, platform center offset, rider seated/standing time).

  • Added support for cycling dynamics.
  • Added elevation filtering based on accuracy of GPS signal.
  • Speed from an external speed sensor, if one is attached, is now displayed over speed from GPS.
  • Improved performance when using the ffmpeg decoder.
  • Fixed an issue where no video was displayed when we had trouble reading audio.
  • Fixed issue with static sound in audio during a video transition using the ffmpeg decoder.
  • Does the VIRB XE record Vector cycling dinamics?

    Audio Out Of Sync

    I just made my first video since updating Virb Edit to the latest version, and the audio is really badly out of sync. Didn't have this problem before updating.

    Kidkernow76,
    Is audio out of sync during playback, export or both? How long is your video project? What decoder / encoder setting are you using? Does your project have a music track? About how far out of sync is the audio? Less than a second, more than 1, more than 5? Thank you for letting us know about this, we'll do our best to get it figured out

    Sync Issue

    It's out of sync after export only. My video is just over 7 minutes long - you can notice the sync issue from early on, but it's most noticable at the end, where it's the best part of a second I'd say. The audio is definately not matching up with people's lips moving by then. I have no music on my video, and am using Ffmpeg as both encoder and decoder.

    Hello again Kidkernow76,
    I took at look at this issue for you and discovered the source of the problem. I've submitted a fix, which will be available in our next update. In the mean time, you can work around this issue by selecting Media Foundation as your encoder. Thank you for your help and feedback!
  • ver 3.6.0 and Vector metrics

    Great updated features with support at cycling dinamics of the Vector powermeter, what is now missing is:

    - average 10" wattage;
    - implementation of running dynamics;

    are you planning to relase it with next update?
  • I cannot say exactly since which version that happens, but many overlay´s are gone.
    There are just 3 left. No filter is selected.
    I tried to find some new, and clicked "Download Overlays". There were about 3-4 sets of gauges. If I download one or more, they were not shown in the overview.

    In the past there have been plenty of overlays, as announced here.

    What happened? is it possible to restore them?

    In Settings/G-Metrix you can turn off to only display gauges that you have data for.

    But I am not sure if that's what you're asking. We constantly add and edit the templates/gauges we ship with.

    If there's some specific gauge you're missing, let me know.

    http://gawisp.com/perry/virb/ has installers for earlier versions if you want to dig around. (Just make sure to have your data backed up, going back versions could potentially do bad things with your data, we do not test down-grading scenarios very much).
  • I meant the overlay templates:
    " />">
    Looks a bit empty there :p
