Vivosport with swimming and surfing

Love my vivosport, but even with the screen in permanent lock it unlocks itself when I'm swimming or surfing.
ive tried setting it for different activities, but no joy.
within 30 minutes max, the action of water on the touchscreen unlocks it and then normally stops my activity.
i contacted Garmin and they said I'm being too vigorous.
i don't believe the unit is faulty, as it works well everywhere but in water. But as I bought it to swim and surf, I have a very pretty but useless bracelet. any suggestions?

    Hi Nicky. Did you come up with a solution? I have the same problem. My clothes seems to activate the screen and unlocks it, and then my training session is either aborted or saved before it is finished. I Have been trying to put something (rubber, papper, leather) over my vivosport screen but its like it is activated by light preasure. :(

    I'd find this device unusable without autolock switched on...
    • Hold the touchscreen to view the menu.
    • Select > Auto Lock.
    • Select an option.
    • Double tap the touchscreen to unlock the device.

    I have the sam e issue and also added a post about it, my proposal for a possible solution would be having an app lock mode, so you can enable/disable the touch screen before jumping in the water.
