When do you charge your battery?

I've had my watch 6 days and haven't had to charge it yet, but it's down to 22% (last bar I think). I noticed in the manual it says "When the battery is low, the watch hands show the current time, and the touchscreen is off until you charge the device.".

Does anyone know what % the touchscreen turns off? At what point are you all generally charging it?
  • infiniteZebra I've let my FENIX 3 battery level get as low as 2% before charging, and doesn't seem to have any long-term effects. It should be worth noting that some of the 3rd party watch faces available on the Garmin Connect Store will drain faster than others. If you're planning on any extended outdoor activities where GPS/GLONASS functions are turned on, safe bet is to have at least 30% charge beforehand.

at a possible and suitable moment. you need this specific cable of course. for me, when its between 10-0% and if i have plans i charge it in between. when its full i disconnect it and re charge it again will give more extra charge a little bit ;-)

This is in the vivomove HR section, there are no third party faces and no GPS.

I take mine off and charge when i shower each day, even though its waterproof I would still take it off to dry my arm so I just made my routine to take it off and charge it before I grab my shampoo and soap and such.

I am charging only every 3-4 days.
it is usually better for lithium batteries to charge less often.

  • Just to add my own findings. This was the first week that I've had it, and it lasted over a week on its first charge - nice! It was down to 3% last night before I finally charged it. Even then the touchscreen was still working. It gave a brief "Battery Low" warning at 7%, and didn't remind me again which I found a bit odd. I took around 1 1/4 hr to get fully charged.
  • Will the fenix 5 give me an alert when battery level comes to a certain level? What level? Like 10% or so?
  • Not sure. This is the Vivomove HR section
